Whiff of Joy Challenge and a new release preview

Good Morning,! I have some 'Sparkles and Swirls' for you today, which is this fortnight's Whiff of Joy Challenge theme, using some of the wonderful new products which will be released in October from Whiff of Joy. Ever since I received the fabulous Nested flowers dies I have been wanting to make a wreath and the new background stamps that will be released next month were perfect to decorate them and I thought the adorable 'Keeper of the Christmas cookies' bird would look great perched on the wreath.

To make the wreath, I covered a polystyrene circle shape with garden string by adding double sided tape to the polystyrene and wrapping the string tightly around and sticking the raw ends down with glue. To make 9 flowers, I stamped a piece of 6x12inch red card with the background patterns using perfect medium and heat embossed them with red glitter embossing powder. I die cut 9 sets of flowers and put them together mixing and matching the different patterns. I pierced through the middle and fastened them with Whiff of Joy brads.
I then shaped them by hand to give them more dimension.

I stamped and coloured the cute little bird stamp and cut him out before glittering and adding him to the wreath with my glue gun. I die cut some swirls from green card and positioned them around the wreath and arranged my flowers on top of them before decorating them with glitter glue. As a finishing touch I added a large green bow topped with a shiny button and a small banner stamped with a sentiment from this set.
I can't wait for Christmas now so I can display my wreath!
Have a great Thursday!

Sugar Nellie DT - Warm Winter wishes

Hello! I am back again with my first card posted on the Sugar Nellie blog since I joined the The Design Team.
I have made a card using the adorable Warm Winter Wishes image which is so much fun to colour.

The papers I have used are by Prima from the North Country pad and go perfectly with my favourite Kraft card and my favourite beige thread for stitching. I die cut some snowflakes from Kraft and dipped them in glitter before topping with some buttons. The sentiment stamp I used is by Paper Make Up.
Enjoy the rest of your day!

Sugar Nellie DT - A Guardian Angel

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you are well and having a good week so far, I can't believe it is Wednesday already! The week is flying by for me! I have a card to share with you today which I made using The Guardian Angel Gorgeous girl stamp which is available here from Sugar Nellie.

LinkI have quite a collection of Sugar Nellie Gorgeous girl stamps now and I love colouring them in and I love the way they come to life as soon as I add some colour to them with my Promarkers. To make my card, I cut a shaped mini card with my scalloped circle Nesties and covered it with some layered Echo Park Papers. I added the coloured image after I had cut her out with scissors and shaped the bottom with a circle Nestie so it sat nicely on the card. I tucked a swirl die cut behind the image which had been cut from music sheet paper and glittered. I also added glitter to the angel wings and to the edges of the sentiment. I finished with some beautiful flowers from Wild Orchid crafts and a couple of gems.
I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

My first Sugar Nellie card as a DT member!

Good Morning Everyone, I hope you are well. I have been playing with the new Sugar Nellie stamps I bought on the last release and have made a card, my first since joining the DT, using the sketch for the current Sugar Bowl Challenge. The optional theme is 'Use scraps' so I have used up some strips of patterned papers which were in my scraps box.

The papers are mostly My Mind's Eye and Echo Park scraps and I mixed them with some textured Kraft card which I bought at the Stamp show at Newbury this year. I coloured the adorable 'Knitted with love' image to match my papers with my Promarkers and added glitter to the pom poms and the hat. I die cut the image with a Nesties die and inked around the edges with Antique Linen distress inks.

I used a Woodware stamp for the sentiment which I mounted on various label dies and embellished with gems. The flowers are from my stash.

Here is the fabulous Sugar Bowl sketch, make sure you pop over to the Challenge blog to see all the wonderful DT cards and all the details you need to take part.

Whiff of Joy DT - A Henry Bookmark

Hello Everyone! I had intended to post this much earlier but my Netbook had other ideas! It decided it would choose today to install the largest update ever which took ages to complete! I have something other than a card to share with you today for my weekly Whiff of Joy post.

I have made a corner bookmark from Kraft and embellished it with Echo Park and Basic Grey papers. I sewed through the layers of papers with beige thread and wound some button twine around the rectangular layered papers before adding it to the base with double sided tape.
I stamped and coloured Henry 'Huge Love' and added him to the bookmark with Glossy accents. I finished with a tiny sentiment cut into a banner shape and a tiny chipboard heart. Better go, still have lots to do before bedtime. We are one week back at school and have already had our first incident of missing P.E kit so I have wasted lots of time trying to locate it!
