Engagement Congratulations!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are well and had a good weekend. I am still suffering with my Bronchitis so am feeling a little down in the dumps today. Hopefully the antibiotics will keep working and get rid of it soon! I have a very CAS card to share with you today which I made to send to my lovely Friend Kitty who recently got engaged to the lovely Ross.

I used white textured cardstock and die cut an oval in it using a Dienamics die. I then added a Clearly Besotted die cut behind gluing the tails to either side of the aperture. I die cut a sparkly heart using a Dienamics die and positioned it on the card base so it would be centred behind the sentiment. I sewed around the edges of the white panel and then added it to the card base with foam pads. I was tempted to add flowers and gems but resisted and I am quite pleased with the finished card.
I hope you have a lovely Monday!

A Glamorous 18th Birthday

Hello Everyone and a Happy Mother's Day to all the lovely Mums out there! It's my day for posting on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog today and I am sharing the card I made for lovely niece Shannon who turned 18 last week. I used the very glamorous 'Posh has a Present' image from Stamping Bella as the image on my card and coloured it in with Promarkers and paper pieced her dress and bag.

The papers I have used are by Echo Park and are from the 'Splendid Sunshine' Pad. I layered them all onto bright pink card and added stitching around the edges. The skinny pink ribbon is a very old one from my stash I bought from Create and Craft when I first started cardmaking. I used 'A La Modes Big Birthday numbers for the 18, cutting them out when I had stamped them onto pink paper. The sentiment is a matching one from the set.

Here is a close up of the image. I love paper piecing the Stamping Bella images and giving them pretty patterned dresses. I finished the card with some flowers from my stash and some stick on gems.
I hope you have a lovely Sunday!

Smile!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all ok. I am still under the weather with Bronchitis but I am tucked up on the sofa at the moment watching Little House on the Prairie and blog hopping so life is not all bad. I have a quick card to share with you today which I made using 1920's Gwen from Some Odd Girl. I bought her a long time ago and I love her style! I coloured her up last week as an experiment using only Cool Grey Graph'it Markers and the blender.

I cut her out with no border this time and added her to a card I made using My Mind's Eye papers which were the perfect colour. The flowers are from my stash and I added a crystal button on top of them which is available here from The Ribbon Girl. The sentiment is by Paper Smooches and is from this set.

Here is a close up of Gwen, the colouring is not perfect but it was great fun experimenting. I sent this card to my Best Friend this week. She is very stylish and elegant, just like Gwen so I thought this would be perfect for her.

Playing with some new stash and a CAS Baby card

Hello Everyone! I am back again! I was very lucky to be able to get hold of some of the gorgeous new Clearly Besotted dies when they were released and despite feeling awful with my cough I was so inspired I couldn't resist having a play. I made a very simply new Baby card using the baby die and the Butterfly Wishes dies.

I added some stitching around the edges and cut an aperture in the white card with an oval die to set the sentiment and the butterfly die into.
I then cut another smaller butterfly which I added below the aperture and finished with pearls

I made 2 other cards as well yesterday, one will be going in the post tomorrow so hopefully I will be able to share it with you in a couple of days. Have a lovely Wednesday!

Celebrate!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are well and having a good week so far. I am still suffering with a nasty cough and the remnants of my cold and not getting enough sleep at the moment so I am looking forward to the Weekend already! I have a Clean and Simple card to share with you today which I made using a selection of Echo Park papers from a variety of pads. I love mixing and matching patterns and Echo Park papers lend themselves to this very well.

I used a fabulous My Favourite Things sentiment as the focal point on my card from this very versatile set which is available here from My Mum's Craft Shop. I used some Fishtail banners to stamp the sentiment onto and then added some of my usual stitching to the layers. The Chipboard embellishments were leftovers from a Magazine Commission.

I will leave you with a liitle arty shot of the card. The wooden stars which are the perfect finishing touch are from Artcuts. I hope you have a lovely Tuesday!

I coloured him in using Graph'it Markers and Promarkers and cut him out before adding him to my card. The papers I have used are from the My Mind's Eye 'Record it Pretty Things' pad. They are gorgeous! I also added some flowers, a hessian ribbon and a lovely little heart button from The Ribbon Girl.

Here is a close up of Mr Fox, I think he is really fantastic and I will be treating myself to more stamps from this range soon as he was so lovely to colour. I hope you have a lovely Sunday!

Big Birthday Wishes!

Hello Everyone! It's my lovely Friend Pauline's Birthday today so I am sharing the card I made for her to celebrate her big day. I used the Penny Black stamp 'Fashion Leader' for my image and coloured her in using Graph'it Markers. I die cut the image using a spellbinders die and inked the edges while it was still in the die using Distress inks.

I used papers from the My Mind's Eye Now and then papers and some turquoise cardstock. I added my usual stitching and some lovely pink ribbon from The Ribbon Girl. I added lots of lovely flowers and a button from my stash and some lovely punched Butterflies and finished with some stick on pearls.

Here is a close up of the image. I love her cute little dog and their matching outfits. I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

MMCSDT and Ribbon Girl DT - Green and playing with some new stash

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all well and having a good Weekend. We are having some beautiful weather here at the moment and I am hoping to get out in the Sunshine today. My card today is doubling up as my Ribbon Girl colour Challenge DT and my regular My Mum's Craft Shop post. The Ribbon Girl colour theme for March is green so I dug out lots of my new goodies to make my card.

I used papers from the Carta Bella 'Sew Lovely' and the My Mind's Eye Record it 'Pretty Things' pads. I added my usual stitching around all the edges and the image I used is a pre-coloured Wild Rose Studio image. The sentiment which I added to a Melissa Frances frame is an older one from my stash.

As well as the frame, I used lots of other Ribbon Girl goodies including: Wooden Heart buttonsAvocado Green Small Plain Buttons, 9mm and 16mm Pale Green/Olive Saddlestitch, 15mm Moss Green No 79 Berisford Satin, and lots of flowers including Mocha 10mm Open Roses, White Sweetheart Blossom, Rose bud semi open Mocha/Dark Cream, Mini Blooms Vintage cream, Linen button twine.

I hope you will be able to join is for this month's Ribbon Girl Challenge. Once again we are so pleased to say that we are sponsored by Lisa and Laila at LOTV and also TheRibbon Girl who are offering one randomly chosen winner two prizes of:

Beautiful Buttons

Hello Everyone! I hope you are well. I have been suffering with a nasty cold this week which my Son gave me. It has been hanging around for a few days now and I am hoping I can get rid of it this weekend! I have a little card to share with you which I made to enter the Hobby House March Challenge. I have been doing a lot of blog hopping and spending a lot of time on Pinterest to get some imspiration lately and I was inspired to make this card when I saw the Hobby House Challenge theme which is buttons.

I received this hexagon die a couple of years ago as a Christmas present and I had never used it. I decided to use it to die cut a panel of kraft card which I added to a kraft card base using foam pads.
I stamped a My Favourite Things sentiment onto another strip of card and stitched along the long edges before adding it to the card. I added some Hobby House roses to the left of the sentiment and some striped Ribbon Girl Buttons which I threaded with twine. I loved making this card and I will be experimenting more with card without coloured images while I get my colouring back up to standard!
I hope you have a lovely Weekend and I will be back on Sunday with another card.

MMCSDT - Spring Flowers

Hello Everyone! I am kicking off a 'Flowers' themed week on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog today. We have been lucky to have some lovely sunshine here this weekend, the daffodils are blooming and Spring is definitely on it's way. To celebrate the lovely weather, I have made a card using some of the lovely new goodies which have arrived recently at My Mum's Craft Shop.

The papers I have used are from the Echo Park 'Splendid Sunshine' pad which is available here. They match the Hobby House 'Summertime' pre-coloured topper so well! I added a sentiment from Paper Smooches 'Scripty Sayings' set which I stamped straight on to the backing papers.

I added a beautiful saddlestitched edge ribbon and lots of paper flowers from the Ribbon Girl around the image and finished with a lovely big button tied with twine and a couple of stick on pearls. I hope you have a lovely Sunday.

Congrats on your New Job!

Hello Everyone, I hope you are all doing well. I am trying very hard to update my blog a little more frequently so am sharing a card I made for a dear Friend who has just been offered a fabulous new job!

All the supplies I have used on my card are mostly things I have had in my stash for ages. The stamp and Die are so old I am not sure where they are from. The papers are mostly American Crafts and My Mind's Eye and the wooden star is from Artcuts. I added a doily cut with a Papermania die and some lovely Ribbon Girl Ribbon. The flower was added to hide an area of the image that didn't come out quite right but I actually really like it there! A happy accident!
I hope you have a lovely Friday!
