Squigglefly Challenge - Colours of the season

The theme for this week's Squigglefly Challenge is to use the 'Colours of the Season'. I have chosen to make a card using one of Jane's adorable little Monsters and some of the fabulous Spooky Dookie Funky Hand papers.

I made a round card using my Nestabilities and then added two of the papers which I cut with pinking scissors and then my Nestabilities. I added faux stitching with a pen and some American Crafts Thickers letters. The flowers and button were from my stash and the twine is by The Ribbon Girl.
Make sure you check out the Squigglefly blog for more fabulous seasonal cards!

Pollycraft Monday Challenge - a fab sketch Challenge!

It's Monday already so it's time for a new Pollycraft Challenge and this week we have as fabulous sketch for you to follow. I made a card using some papers I have had in my stash for ages and I have finally used them all up now! You may have seen the other cards I made with them last week.

I used the adorable Mimi and Marley on my card and the freebie sentiment from a couple of weeks ago which I split in half so I could put it over both sides of my gatefold card.
I loved making this card! I added a little closure made with a couple of punched circles and some twine fixed on with some eyelets. Mimi and Marley look so cute in these bright colours!

Here is the fabulous sketch. I hope you will be able to join us
for this Challenge!

Make sure you check out the blog for loads of fabulous cards
from the rest of the Design Team and I look forward to seeing
all your cards.

Have a great Monday!

Squigglefly release day

It's Squigglefly release day and I have a card to share with you today which I made using a sentiment by Jess Holland.

I printed the sentiment and then cut it out into a tag shape with a Spellbinders die. I then layered it on to red card also cut into a tag shape. I covered the card base with green Papermania patterned paper and topped this with a red cardstock square which had been punched with a scallop punch along one edge. I added more patterned paper on top of this and sewed around the edges. I added the tag and embellished it with ribbons, buttons and gems and finished the card with a lovely little Santa which is available from Squigglefly here.
Make sure you check out Squigglefly today for lots of new images, including some fab designs by new artist Abz Hakim.
Have a great Saturday!

WOYWW - I've moved!!

I haven't moved house but I have moved my Craft area within my house. I have moved my craft desk and all my stash to my hallway downstairs and my desk is tucked nice and neatly under the stairs.

I have some work in progress on my desk. Some cards made with Pollycraft images and images from Di's Digi downloads. The cards all have sewing on them and are laid out on the desk with glitter glue drying on them. It is much nicer having my desk downstairs rather than in my room as I feel much more part of everything else going on...
...and I get to spend much more time with Charley too :-)
I hope you enjoy having a look at my very tidy desk, if you would like to see more workdesks, please pop over to Julia's for loads more!
Have a great Wednesday!

A Red and Green card for The Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge

I had a crafting session last night to get up to date with my DT work and when I had finished, I treated myself to a little play time. I made this quick card using an image which was sent to me by the lovely Becky as part of my birthday present.

I coloured the image using my Promarkers and cut it out with my Nestabilities. I used a lovely paper from my scraps box and layered it on to red and green paper and ran my sewing machine around the edges. I added some lovely gingham ribbon, an Elzybells sentiment and a lovely little button from The Ribbon girl.
I am entering this card in the 2nd Ribbon Girl Colour Challlenge, the theme this month is Red and Green.

Some more Funky Halloween cards

I had a little play yesterday with some more of the papers and toppers from the Spooky Dookie paper download available here from Funky Hand.

You get lots of toppers in the download so it is great to make quick an easy cards. For the first one, I cut some of the orange spotty paper to fit my base card, I then wrapped it with stripey twine which I tied in a knot. I cut out one of the toppers and another moon from another topper and covered this in glitter before adding it with foam pads. I cut 3 bats out from one of the backing papers and added them to the moon before sticking the finished topper to the card. I added a little button and a couple of stick on pearls to finish the card.
My second card was very quick to make. I cut a piece of stripey paper and added it to the base card. I then cut out the topper and added it to the base with foam pads. I added a couple of little ghosts cut from one of the backing papers and added them to the card with foam pads, I added a bit of sparkle to them with glitter glue. As a finishing touch, I added a little bow topped with a ghost brad and a little gem.
My last card uses the letters included on the topper sheet. I cut these out with my craft knife and added them with foam pads to a circle which I had cut with my pinking circle Nestabilities. I layered up some of the patterned papers with black card, wrapping the orange dotty paper with stripey twine. I added eyes to my 'Boo' and then stuck my topper on to the base card. As a finishing touch, I added glossy accents to the letters and a little spotty button.
I have been experimenting with different backgrounds for my photos, I think this Kraft card makes the photos look a bit dull...I will try something else next time but will probably end up going back to the white!
I have a fun day planned today. This morning, I will be showing my Mum how to make a few simple Christmas cards, I am taking some card making supplies so she can have a little play and then hopefully I can convert her to crafting too!
Have a great Sunday!

CES Challenge #8 - Make a male Birthday card

It's Saturday and it's an exciting day for me as it is my turn to pick the theme for this week's CES Challenge!
I have chosen 'Male Birthday card' as my theme this week in honour of my dear Dad who celebrated his birthday on Monday. I decided to try something a bit different this week and coloured the fabulous Ronnie in sepia tones to create a vintage look card.

I used Paris Nights GCD papers to make my card. They are just gorgeous and have a lovely vintage feel to them so the card I made is a bit different to my usual style.
The sentiment I used is by Cat's Life Press.
I hope you will be able to join us for this Challenge for the chance to win...a selection of flowers, leaves, buttons & springs

Make sure you check out the Challenge blog for some inspiration from the fabulous DT and our very talented Guest Designers.
Have a great Saturday!

I promised yesterday that I would share the card I made for my Dad's birthday with you so here it is!

I made a card blank using a Sizzix label die which I topped with some lovely DCWV tartan paper. I added a cute image by The Greeting Farm which I coloured with Promarkers, some twine and a Wild Rose Studio sentiment and finished off with some of my favourite Prima letters.
Have a great Tuesday!

A celebration for the Squigglefly Challenge.

The theme for the Squigglefly Challenge this week is 'Celebration' and there is no better celebration than a Birthday .Two People who are very special to me are celebrating their Birthdays today...my dear Dad (I will share his card with you tomorrow...) and my good Friend Petra.
Petra is an immensely talented lady, she makes the most wonderful cakes, cards and altered projects. She is such an inspiration to me as she approaches every Project she undertakes with such dedication and a unbeatable sense of perfectionism which shows in everything she does.

I just had to make a card with a cake on to celebrate her Birthday and these images by Jane Beljo available here from Squigglefly were perfect! The backing paper I used is from the Funky Hand Colour me Happy CD, the sentiment is Hero Arts and the twine and button are from The Ribbon Girl.
I hope you will be able to join us for this Challenge, please check out the other DT cards on the blog for more inspiration!
Enjoy the rest of your Monday!

Pollycraft Monday Challenge - It's a Fairytale!

I's Monday already so it's time for another Pollycraft Challenge. The theme this week is 'It's a Fairytale' I decided to make something other than a card. I used some Cosmo Cricket Togetherness papers with Cuthbert and Kiki images.

Cuthbert is coming to rescue little Princess Kiki from her tower :-) The numbers I used on the Clock are by Prima as are the flowers.
I bought the clock face and the mechanism from one of the Craft Pound shop stalls at on the craft shows recently. Making the clock was really simple as the points in between the scallops was where the numbers needed to go.
Make sure you check out the Challenge blog for lots of fabulous Projects from the DT. I hope you will be able to join us this week, we are being sponsored this week by the Craft Garden and there is a £10 voucher for the winner.

Have a lovely Monday! I will be back later with another card for the Squigglefly Challenge.

I used the card blanks I bought in Paperchase last week and the papers are from the Togetherness collection by Cosmo Cricket. The Owl I used is a digi stamp by Jane Beljo which is also available from Squigglefly.

A Wedding card

Here is a Wedding card I made for a colleague who is tying the knot at then end of the month. Some of you may have seen this on my desk on Wednesday. I used two grooms from Lori Boyd and all the papers are from the DCWV 'Be Mine' stack. I am not really pleased with the card, I think maybe I shouldn't have added the bow and the grooms should have been coloured to match...not sure...I just know something is wrong with it!

I am so glad it is Friday, I am absolutely exhausted and cannot wait for the weekend to have a bit of a lie in. Travelling to London every day has not been fun and I am relieved that today is my last day. I will not be staying on to do any shopping after my course finishes although I did treat myself to some blank Kraft cards from the Paperchase at the station in my lunch break yesterday and I will be going back for more today :-)
Have a great Friday!

The Sweetest Birthday ever!

I don't often do very pink and girly but I have a card to share with you today which most definitely is. I didn't even sit at my Craft desk yesterday as I was exhausted when I got home. We had takeaway Pizza and I just collapsed on the sofa! At this rate, I am not going to make it to any of my planned crafty places in London!

I made this card a little while ago and I don't think I have shown it yet. I used a fabulous image from Squiggle Stamps, Daisy with her Balloon which is available here.
I combined her in a simple layout with a sentiment stamp from a set I bought last year at Alexandra Palace. The papers were from my scrap box and the button is ancient! I just adore little Daisy and I loved matching all the patterns and papers to make this card!
I hope you are all having a good week...

WOYWW - mess from a finished card

My first day of commuting to London for my course went well even though the train journey home was a bit long and boring. The course content started to make sense in the afternoon so I am not too worried about going back tomorrow.

I decided to make a card when I came home for a Wedding with two grooms so I got to work with some Lori Boyd images. I had decided to craft to relax but this did not happen as everything that could go wrong with this card did and I am not 100% happy with the card. I didn't feel like tidying up when I finished so my desk is messy, it actually looks a lot worse in real life! If you would like to see more desks and maybe share a photo of yours, please pop over to Julia's for some WOYWW fun!

A couple of Funky Christmas cards

Anice asked the Funky Hand DT a few days to come up with some Christmassy cards using some of her Papercraft Factory CDs to show that the papers can be used all year round.

I really enjoyed the Challenge and chose to use the Merry Berry collection from the Colour Me Happy CD.

I printed off my favourite papers in the collection and added in a couple of digi images from the All I want for Christmas paper download and set to work. It didn't take me long to make these cards, I love these colours and mixed in with a little red stitching, they are perfect for Christmas!
I won't have much time for crafting the rest of this week as I will be commuting to London every day for a course, I hope I will be able to fit in a little trip to Blade Rubber stamps and the Paperchase flagship store and it will make all the travelling worthwile!

Maurice's Tee-riffic Christmas!

I have been very busy this weekend with loads of crafty and non crafty stuff. I am attending a course in London next week so I have been busy getting organised this weekend and trying to get things finished.

I made these little boxes of golf tees at silly o'clock on Saturday morning to sell at the Christmas Fayre on which I will be having a stall at the end of November. I made the boxes using a Sizzix die and Acetate and stapled them together with green staples.
I then tied the boxes together with ribbon and made a tag with Maurice dressed in his Christmas jumper. I created a little Christmassy scene for him to stand in with some Papermania Honey and Hugs paper and a little glitter then added him to a tag cut with a Nestabilities scalloped circle.
I hope you all had a good weekend. I am off to tidy up my Craft area now as it is a complete mess!

It's Saturday and time for another Challenge on the CES Challenges blog. The theme this week is Get ahead, get a hat! I used fabulous Wild Rose Studio stamps to make this card for my Mother in Law who is celebrating her Birthday next week.

I used one of my new punches on the card and some ribbon and flowers from my stash as well as some Echo Park papers.

Take 5 and Get Funky!

It's the first of the month and time for a new Funky Hand Challenge! This month, Lythan has picked our theme and she wants to see 5 different Funky Hand papers on your Project.

I made a hanging paper ball using papers from the Funky Seasons CD. I cut 20 circles and folded them and then stuck them all together to make this Christmas decoration. It looks complicated but is actually really easy and I think it looks fab!
I love the colours in this collection and they are a bit different to the usual Christmassy colours.
Make sure you go over to the Get Funky blog for lots of gorgeous projects from the DT! If you take part you could win a £20.00 voucher to spend on the Fabulous Funky Hand goodies!
Enjoy the rest of Friday and have a great Weekend!
