MMCSDT - Love you bots

Hello Everyone! I hope you had a good Weekend and a good start to the week. I am back today with my DT card for My Mum's Craft shop and I have another 'Love' themed card to share with you.
I used the Paper Smooches Boom Bots stamp set on my card and had a bit of fun experimenting with Watercolour backgrounds.

I used some precut postcards from Paperchase to create my background on using Distress inks. I smeared some Tumbled glass ink straight from the pad on to a non stick craft sheet and picked it up with a wet brush before painting it randomly on to the card. I actually used my Cosmic Shimmer brush so the painted effect has a slight shimmer to it and some darker accents.

I stamped the adorable robot on to white card and coloured him in using Promarkers before cutting him out and adding him to the card with foam pads and then stamped some hearts and cogs from the set.

I added a sentiment and then mounted the finished panel on to a kraft card. I will definitely be experimenting with watercolour backgrounds again as I love the finished effect. I hope you have a lovely Tuesday!

A Birthday card for a Super 6 Year old!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are well and are having a good Weekend. I am feeling a little under the weather today so I thought I would take the opportunity to update my blog. I have a run of Family and Friend's Birthdays at the beginning of February so I have few cards to share with you over the coming days.

The card I am showing today was made for my Best Friend's Son Patric. I used a selection of old papers from my stash to create the background and to die cut the skyline using a Dienamics die.

The image I have used is a digi stamp called 'Super Henry' and is available here from Whiff of Joy, I coloured Henry in with my Promarkers to match the papers I used and cut him out before adding him to the card with foam pads.

I used a Paper Smooches sentiment which I cut out using a Dienamics Fishtail die and added this to the card with foam pads and added a large number 6 which was stamped using a Dienamics number stamp. As a finishing touch I dotted around some of my favourite wooden embellishments from Artcuts. I hope you have a lovely Sunday afternoon and are enjoying some sunshine, it is a beautiful day here.

Smile!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all ok. I am still under the weather with Bronchitis but I am tucked up on the sofa at the moment watching Little House on the Prairie and blog hopping so life is not all bad. I have a quick card to share with you today which I made using 1920's Gwen from Some Odd Girl. I bought her a long time ago and I love her style! I coloured her up last week as an experiment using only Cool Grey Graph'it Markers and the blender.

I cut her out with no border this time and added her to a card I made using My Mind's Eye papers which were the perfect colour. The flowers are from my stash and I added a crystal button on top of them which is available here from The Ribbon Girl. The sentiment is by Paper Smooches and is from this set.

Here is a close up of Gwen, the colouring is not perfect but it was great fun experimenting. I sent this card to my Best Friend this week. She is very stylish and elegant, just like Gwen so I thought this would be perfect for her.

I'm back! A new card for the Graph'it Markers Challenge - Denim

Hello Everyone! I am back! That was a very long couple of weeks...I can't believe I haven't posted on my blog since the 10th of January. Needless to say, it took me a lot longer than expected to recover from my hand operation. I am truly on the mend now and am slowly getting back into crafting again. My card today is my first attempt at colouring again so please be gentle with me. I am not 100% happy with my card today but I have to start somewhere. The card I am sharing below if for the Graph'it Marker Colouring Challenge. Our theme this fortnight is 'Denim'.

I have used a fabulous image from the Dollie Daydream Polkadoodles CD on my card. I love her outfit and her hair is amazing! I used Echo Park papers from an older pad and a Paper Smooches sentiment from the 'Scripty Sayings' set.

I added some Dutch Doobadoo die cut embellishments, including the Laser Art A5 Butterflies, Laser Art A5 Swirls and a Kraft Star which I topped with a vintage button.I also added some Ribbon Girl flowers and ribbon and some stick on pearls.

Here are the pens I used for my colouring. I used the Glitter Shake it pen to give her some fun glittery trainers. I hope you will be able to join us for our Challenge for the chance to win a Graph'it colouring DVD. Have a lovely Friday!

My Mum's Craft Shop DT - A hanging shadow box for the January 'Love' Challenge

Hello Everyone! Happy New Year! I hope you had a lovely New Year's Eve and I wish you all the best for 2014. The first of the month means a brand new Challenge on the My Mum's Craft Shop  blog and our theme this month is 'Love' . I made a shadow box using some packaging I save from a mobile phone cover my Husband bought after Christmas. As soon as I saw it I knew I wanted to alter it!

I covered the box inside and out using some gorgeous papers by My Mind's Eye from the
Lost & Found Record It Heirloom pad which is available here from My Mum's Craft Shop. I covered the back of the box using some kraft paper from Paperchase. I covered some wooden hearts from my stash with some papers from the pad and inked the edges and added a sentiment from this Papersmooches set stamped onto a banner cut from paper from the pad. I inked around the edges of the hearts and the banner using Tea Dye Distress inks. I added some Pom Pom trim and lots of beautiful flowers from The Ribbon Girl. I also added a wooden button and little resin embellishment from My Mum's Craft Shop. I hope you will be able to join us for our Challenge for the chance to win a voucher from My Mum's Craft Shop. Enjoy the rest of your New Year's Day!

Graph'it Markers DT for the Graph'it Challenge - Happy New Colour!

Hello Everyone! I hope you had  a lovely Christmas Day and Boxing Day. My blog has been rather neglected lately as I was running behind with my Christmas preparations but I hope normal service will be restored soon! It's time for a brand new Challenge on the Graph'it Marker Challenge blog today. Our theme this week is 'Happy New Colour' we are challenging you to use a new colour!I chose Yellow as my colour I wouldn't normally use to create a lovely golden coat for the lovely Labradors on my card.
I rarely use yellows but  I love the rich gold you can create with the Graph'it markers. I will be sure to use this colour combination again for hair and animals.  I used just three colours to colour in the dogs: 1250, 3110 and 3140. The images are from Little Miss Muffet and the sentiment is a Paper Smooches one
Make sure you check out the Challenge blog for lots of fabulous inspiration from the DT!
Have a lovely Friday!

New Ribbons and Toppers at My Mum's Craft Shop

Hello Everyone! It's my day for posting on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog today. I have been playing with some of the lovely new goodies which have just arrived at My Mum's Craft Shop and have two cards for you today. Kitty has recently received a huge selection of printed ribbons and toppers which are going to be perfect for your Christmas cards this year. Both cards were very quick to make!

I used Vintage Presents ribbon on my first card and some matching paper from My Mind's Eye. I also added a Paper Smooches sentiment which is from the Christmas Sampler set. I finished with a wooden snowflake from my stash and a stick on gem.
The new Owl toppers are great fun and are already coloured in. They are a perfect match to the Bazzill basics Nordic Pines papers I have used. The ribbon is Christmas Hoot Tawny and I used it as my sentiment. I added another wooden snowflake and some punched Holly leaves to finish. I hope you have a lovely Sunday!

Playing with Paper and Glue

Hello Everyone! It's the Weekend! I have a fun day of shopping ahead with my Mum and then not much else planned apart from a lot of crafting. I am popping on quickly today to share a couple of cards I made recently using papers from the Echo Park Paper and Glue pad. This has been one of my favourite pads of the year. The papers are perfect for boy's cards and have come in handy for some cards I made to celebrate important milestones for some of the boys in my life.

I made the first card for my Son to congratulate him on his exam results in August. He has now completed his first full week at Sixth Form College and I am so proud of him I could burst! The card has a simple layout and I used Whiff of Joy stamps and a Paper Smooches sentiment.

I made this card for my Best Friend's Son who started Primary School last week. I cannot believe how grown up he is now, it only seems like yesterday I was holding him in my arms when he was a tiny baby, he has grown into such a lovely little boy and seeing him all smart in his School Uniform really made me well up! The image I have used is Lil' Dumplings Brains from Pollycraft and is available here and the sentiment is another Paper Smooches one. I hope you have a lovely Saturday!

Pollycraft DT for the Pollycraft Challenge - Buttons and Bows

Hello Everyone! It's time for a brand new Challenge on the Pollycraft blog. Our theme this week was an easy one for me...it's Buttons and Bows! I love adding buttons to my cards and have lots of buttons in my stash which I love using or just looking at! I used 3 of them on my card and threaded them with some gorgeous hemp twine from The Ribbon Girl which I also tied in a bow on my tag which I popped between the layers on my card.
The cute little Monster I have used on my card is called 'Spike' and he is a classic from the Pollycraft cave. You can find him here. I coloured him in with Promarkers, Flexmarkers and Graph'it pens and cut him out leaving a small border before adding him to my card. The papers I have used are from the Echo Park 'For the Record Documented' pad and I layered them on to kraft before adding them to my card. The sentiment is by Paper Smooches. I hope you will be able to join us for our Challenge. The DT have made some fabulous cards to inspire and if you take part, you may win a  £10 shopping spree at Pollycraft!

Hello Everyone! It's my day for posting on the Sugar Nellie blog and I am sharing a new baby card made using the adorable Albie the little Cotton Rabbit who is available here from Sugar Nellie. I adore all the Little Cotton Rabbit stamps, they are perfect for new baby cards and cards for little ones!

I coloured Albie in using my new Graph'it pens for his jumper and Promarkers for the rest and cut him out leaving a small border. I used Echo Park Bundle of Joy Boy papers on my card and the stamped sentiment is from Paper Smooches. The gingham ribbon is from my stash and the blue twill ribbon was bought at the Bracknell craft show. I added a gorgeous wooden button from Prima on top of the ribbon sentiment.

Here is a close up of my coloured in image. I am really happy with my new Graph'it pens! The colours are so intense and the blending is really easy. I need to collect a few more to get a good range of colours. I hope you have a lovely sunny Wednesday where you are .

Pollycraft is back!!

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a lovely Bank Holiday Weekend. Have you heard the very exciting news? Paula has re-opened Pollycraft and has some lovely brand new digis for sale which I know you are going to love.

Paula asked the old Pollycraft DT to help out with some sample and I made a couple of cards using my favourites from the new digis. The first card was made using 'What's the buzz' who is a cute little bee but I coloured her in using greens to make her into a caterpillar. I used Echo Park papers from the Echo Park 'Bundle of Joy - Boy' pad and a Paper Smooches sentiment. The resin flower is from My Mum's Craft shop and the Ribbon is from the Ribbon Girl.

I used 'Out of this World' for my second card and I think the papers are old Echo Park but I am not 100% sure. The sentiment is also from Paper Smooches and the button and Ribbon are from The Ribbon Girl. I have always loved Pollycraft images and am so happy the shop is open again and can't wait to see what Paula comes up with next! Have a lovely Tuesday!

A Beautiful Butterfly for Dies week at My Mum's Craft Shop.

Hello Everyone!  I am starting off a new themed week on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog and I have a card to share with you today which I have made using one of my favourite recent purchases from My Mum's Craft Shop...the beautiful Marianne Designs Butterfly die. I saw this at the trade show earlier this year made up using felt and it was truly stunning.

I have used mine to cut some of the beautiful new My Mind's Eye Find your Wings and Fly Away papers and made an anniversary card for my Parents. I used a Paper smooches sentiment from the Good Gab set.

I kept my layout quite simple, adding a little stitching and some paper flowers and used flower stamens for the butterfly antennae. I added some buttons from my stash to the butterfly, some gorgeous pleated ribbon from the Ribbon Girl and finished with some stick on pearls and gems. I hope you have a lovely Sunday.
