My DT card for the last ever Susie's Sasy Challenge

It's the last ever Susie's Sassy Challenge and before I go on to tell you about this last Challenge, I wanted to Thank Susie for doing such a fab job running the Challenges and also for giving me the opportunity of working with such a talented, fun and lovely group of ladies. It has been a fun 6 months and I am going to miss the laughs we all had together.
The theme for this Challenge is 'Me and my pets.
This our last challenge will only run for one week ending next Wednesday at noon

The Prize for the new challenge #12
This week we are very lucky to be sponsored by the lovely Di over at Di's Digidownloads
Di is offering the winner of this challenge their choice of 2 gorgeous digital stamps from her shop.
Hop over to Di's Digital downloads website where you will find a gorgeous selection of digital stamps for all occasions at very affordable prices .

Di was also kind enough to let the design team use some of her wonderful digi's for this weeks challenge samples.
I chose this adorable image of a girl with her cute little cat. I was inspired by the shaped Easel cards in the latest issue of Craft Stamper magazine. I made an easel base from bright green card and embossed the front panel. I inked all the edges and decorated the panels with DCWV papers from the Pets stack.

I coloured the image with Promarkers to match the papers and added a sentiment from Elzybells mounted on Nestabilities label shapes.
The little charm is from Quixotic paperie. I loved making this card and will definitely be making more of these and I think Di's images are just adorable! I hope you will be able to join us for this last Challenge.
Make sure you check out the blog for more inspiration from the very talented DT.
Have a lovely Thursday.

Susie's Sassy Challenge DT Project: Springtime Garden

Sally has chosen a Springtime Garden theme for this fortnight's Sassy Challenge. I decided to make something other than a card again and used a lovely watering can template that I found here.

I went to the Range in Swindon on Mother's day, I had never been there before and I loved it! They had so may goodies, I bought a My Mind's eye pad which I used to make the watering can , trim and the butterflies.

I also bought the Butterfly punch there and lots of other fun stuff. I love this Butterfly punch so much, it is so versatile.

The flowers I used to decorate the watering can are from various places as are the gems. The sentiment is by Elzybells and was cut out with a Nesties label die.

I used my Martha Stewart border punch to decorate the bottom of the watering can.
Now for some sad news... last week we had to say good bye to DT member Vikki, this week we say goodbye to Lisa, Susie has also decided to close this bi-weekly challenge and concentrate on the other 2 challenge blogs she runs with Vikki. The last Challenge will be the 8th of April. I have had such a lovely time working with the girls and I hope you have enjoyed playing along with the Challenges too.
I hope you will be able to join us for our last two Challenges, make sure you take a look at the blog to see all the wonderful DT cards, they are so bright and cheerful, I think we have all been very inspired by this theme!
Have a lovely Thursday.

An Easter Basket for Susie's Sassy Challenge

Good Morning!

I wanted to say a special Thank you to all of you who visited my blog yesterday and left comments on the photo of my desk. You may be interested to know that I did actually end up going to a Craft shop on my lunch break and bought 3 metres of Pink Organza ribbon! I obviously did not have quite enough :-)

Some of you eagle eyed WOYWWers spotted this Project on my Desk yesterday. This is my DT Project for Susie's Sassy Challenge and the theme this fortnight is Easter. I am on a mission to make as many of these little baskets as I can before Easter so I thought it would be a great idea to make one as my DT project!

For the basket I followed a tutorial on the Magnolia Challenge blog. It looks really complicated is actually quite straightforward and the tutorial is really easy to follow.

I used K+Co paper, Papermania cardstock, one of my New Martha Stewart Punches, pink ribbon and a Heather Ellis image to decorate the basket. The little butterflies were from John Lewis, the 'bling' is Kanban and the flowers are from various places...

I coloured the cute little image with my Promarkers. I am really enjoying using these Pure Innocence images. I seem to have gone digi image crazy lately. There is so much choice out there! I treated myself to the Alice in Wonderland digi set from The Greeting Farm yesterday and can't wait to print them and get colouring :-)
The little Easter sentiment was stamped using the Elzybells everyday greetings set. This set is so handy for every occasion!
I filled the basket with lots of yummy Chocolae eggs and some shredded tissue paper.
I hope you will be able to join us for this Challenge and create something lovely for Easter.
Make sure you pop over to the Blog to see the DT's fabulous projects. There is a Guest DT spot for the 8th of April up for grabs for the winner of this Challenge.
Have a lovely Thursday!

Susie's sassy Challenge DT card: Aqua and Lilac

It's time for a new Challenge over at Susie's Sassy Challenges. This fortnight, we are following a colour theme set by DT member Lisa. Lisa chose her favourite colours for us to work with: Aqua and Lilac.
I never would have thought of putting these colours together but I love this combo now and will definitely use it again.

This week we have a super sponsor the lovely Roberta from Prairie Fairy Designs. Roberta is offering the winner of the winner of challenge #9 a selection of any 3 digital stamps from her store!!

I loved using this image, it is so pretty! I coloured it with Promarkers and added Stickles to the wings, the sentiment is a free digi stamp available from here.
I used American Crafts and DCWV papers and a Fiskars punch for the border. Most of the flowers are from Hero Arts with some Prima mixed in. The ribbon is from my stash.
Make sure you pop over to the blog and take a look at all the lovely DT cards. I hope you will be able to join us for the chance to win some gorgeous images!
I hope you are having a good week.

My DT cards for Susie's Sassy Challenge - Hearts and Flowers

We are going all soppy and Romantic for the latest Challenge. The theme this fortnight has been picked by me! What better way to celebrate Valentine's Day than with hearts and flowers!

We are very lucky to have our first sponsors on the Challenge blog, Cards etc.

Jolanda sent us some lovely images to have a play with that are perfect for Valentine's day cards or Friendship cards.

I have made 2 cards using the downloads and decided to use non traditional Valentines colours. The 1st card is made with green Crate paper card and some K+Co textured white cardstock. The gems and flowers are from my stash as is the ribbon.
The second card was made with some backing papers I received in a blog candy win. The heart embellishment is a Nesties heart topped with a felt American Crafts heart tied with twine. The sentiment is from Elzybells.

I hope you will be able to join us for this Challenge. Please check out the other DT girlies blogs for some inspiration and I look forward to visiting you all to see what you make :-)

DT card ror Susie's Sassy Challenge - Red White and Blue

It's time for a new Susie's Sassy Challenge! The theme this time is 'Red White and Blue' as chosen by our lovely DT member Denise.
I chose a lovely paper I received a couple of Christmases ago from my in a Cath Kidston stationery pack from my good Fried Petra.
I matted this on to some red card and sewed around the edges. I added a Whiff of Joy image which I coloured with Promarkers and cut out with my Nesties.
The flowers are from various sources and the little silver rings I poked the brads through are from Quixotic Paperie (Elaine has such a lovely range of embellishments and findings). The sentiment is by Hero Arts and I stamped it on Nestabilities labels which I threaded on to Gingham ribbon. This card is quite simple, I didn't want to overdo it due to the strong colours and I never would have thought of using Red, White and Blue in this way before the Challenge.

Susie's Sassy Challenge no6 - Something for a boy

It's time for Susie's 6th Challenge! The theme is 'A card for a boy' with an option to include an animal.
Tracy chose this theme because her little boys Birthday is coming up and he loves animals.

I used some recycled Kraft card to cover my base card and layered on a square of Camouflage Making Memories paper. The circle mounted on to a Kraft scalloped circle is also from Making memories and the paper string was bought in John Lewis.
The Lion image is from Jane's Doodles Designs and he was printed on to some handmade coffee paper and coloured in with Promarkers and Sakura pens with a touch of glaze for his nose.
The 'brad' is just a brass paper fastener and the letters are a mix of Papermania and Making memories.

Susie's Sassy Challenge no 4 - A touch of gold

Susie's Sassy Challenge no 4 launches today. Thank you to all of you who took part in the last Buttons and Bows Challenge. It was lovely looking at all your cards.

The Challenge for this fortnight is 'A touch of gold'. Something a bit different for me as I don't normally use gold. I am more of a silver person but I found this lovely gold Papercellar card and took my lead from this to create my card. Some American Crafts snowflake paper gave me my inspiration for the colour. I love this paper and have used it on quite a few of my cards this year. I have a tiny bit left now and am trying to think of a way to use it!

I used a Kraftin Kimmie stamp and a Stampendous sentiment on a DL card base I had covered in the gold card. The image was cut with Labels 8 Nesties and coloured with promarkers, Sakura pens and stickles. I am really trying hard with my colouring now but still need a lot of practise on my shading techniques. I finished the card off with some bling, a diecut snowflake and gold organza ribbon. I love organza ribbon!

Now for the interesting bit about the Challenge!

The prize this fortnight has been donated by the lovely Dulcie Jackson
The winner will receive the 3 items in the above photo.

There are not too many rules to this challenge as you know by now but you do have to stick to the theme or you will have your entry removed from the linky to be fair to everyone
And please link back to the challenge in your post .
Anyone can enter anywhere in the world all you have to do is make a card or project.
Closing date is Wednesday 30th December at noon GMT

I hope to see you there!

Susie's Sassy Challenge no3 DT card - Buttons and Bows

Another fortnight has passed already and Susie's next Sassy Challenge has been announced. The theme this time is Buttons and bows so I decided to make another Christmas card to add to my small pile of cards.
I used a digital image from Jane's Doodles Designs, this Santa is just so cute I couldn't resist making a backing paper for my card by printing out multiple images onto a piece of card and then colouring them in with my Promarkers. The images print so clearly and it is a real delight to colour them in. I also added glossy accents to his boots and glitter to the fur on his cute little santa suit.
I sewed the backing paper I had made on to some red card and wrapped a red satin ribbon round the assembled pieces before sticking to the card blank. I stamped the Papermania 'ho ho ho' sentiment onto a tag cut from a Sizzix shape and mounted it to the left of the card with a foam pad.
The Santa was then printed once and coloured it with Promarkers and more glossy accents and glitter was added to his boots and suit. I cut the image with Nesties and mounted onto a Nesties scalloped circle before sewing around with a ziz zag stitch. The topped was mounted on the card front and I added a large bow to which I had sewed a heart button. I finished off the card with 2 more heart shaped buttons that I had threaded with narrow red ribbon.
I love how bright and Christmassy this card turned out. Make sure you come and join us for the Challenge, this time there is a Guest Design Team place available for the winner. I loved looking through all your entries last time, they were all fab so make sure you join in again!
I hope you are having a good week.

Susie's Sassy Challenge #2 - Pink and Sparkly

Here is my Design Team card for Susie's second Sassy Challenge. I can't believe the first Challenge is over. The two weeks just flew by. There were so many lovely entries and it was lovely to visit all the blogs of crafters who took part. A winner has been picked so check out Susie's blog now for details.
The theme set this fortnight is Pink and Sparkly. I don't usually use Pink a lot but I do like a bit of bling!
I took my inspiration for this card from some gorgeous die cuts I received from Susie in and a lovely Magnolia stamped image also from Susie.

As you can see , I only used pinks on this card and I really like the overall effect.

I coloured Tilda with my Promarkers and added Glossy accents to her boots, this changed the colour a bit so I am not 100% happy with her boots but I think they tie in quite nicely with the Felt flower.
I added gems to the flowers in the basket and also to the lovely Organza ribbon.
The backing papers I used are Bazzil Bling and DCWV Blossoms and Butterflies and the flowers are from various sources, I think some may have been free with a Magazine a while back. They are held together with an Imaginisce button brad. I love these brads, they look so effective and are so quick instead of sewing the buttons on.
Here is a close up of the flower, you can also see some of the stitching here. I decided to sew around the image and the edge of the card to try and tie all the pinks in together.
I will leave you now with a picture of the prize you could win if you take part in the Challenge, I hope you can join in so I can come and have a nosey around all your lovely blogs!

Look at all those lovely goodies! Hope to see you there!

Susie's Sassy Challenge no1 has launched!!!

This is my Design Team Card for Susie's first Challenge which kicks off today on her blog
The Challenge theme is Christmas and runs for a fortnight. There is a fabulous prize up for grab which you can see in more detail at the bottom of this post. It is worth over £50.00 and there are blinkies for the top 3 as well.

I used an Elzybells stamp for my card and did a bit of paper piecing.
The spotty paper is from Basic Grey and the snowflake paper is from the My Mind's eye Christmas stack.
The ribbon is from Hobbycraft, the flowers are Prima and the cute buttons are from a lovely Haberdashery shop in France.

On the close up of the couple you can see the Paperpiecing I did. The girls coat is Paperpieced from a scrap of K+Co paper and the boys jacket is brown card to make it look textured. The colouring is mostly done with Promarkers and a little touch of Sakura pen here and there. The snow is white glitter glue.

I just love this sentiment, it is so sweet and I think the little button really sets it off.
I added some more snowy glitter to the Flower but I don't think it shows very well. I sewed through the button with some embroidery threads.

Please pop over to Susie's Sassy blog to see all the other cards created by the Design Team and Susie and take part in order to be in with a chance to win this fabulous prize. We would love to see you creations!

The perfect man and some exciting news!

I had a very early start today and woke up to some exciting news but more on that later....
Before setting off out today to the Look Out to take Charlie for a walk, I had a bit of a play with my stamps and Cuttlebug. I had bought 4 Gingerbread men cutters earlier in the week with this idea in mind.
I die cut some tag shapes, stamped the Gingerbread man rhyme from Elzybells and die cut it into a label shape. I inked the edges and mounted it on to the tag.

I stamped the Elzybells Gingerbead man and coloured him in with Promarkers before cutting him out and adding him to the tag with foam pads. I then added a bit of bling and tied to the Cookie cutter with paper string.

I have a table booked at the Crosfields Christmas Fayre so I am making lots of bits and pieces to take with me. I have Post-it note holders, Tooth fairy money bags, bookmarks and lots of other things planned besides cards so now I just have to get on and make them!

Now on to my news! I found out when I woke up this morning that I have made the Design Team for Susies Sassy Challenge. I am so excited! I cannot wait for the Challenges to start.
The Design Team girls that Susie has chosen are so talented. Make sure you join us soon for the 1st Challenge.
Off to tidy my desk now so I can start creating again.
