Sugar Nellie Sparkle and shine blog hop - Boy with presents

Hello Everyone! Welcome to my blog for the Sugar Nellie Sparkle and Shine blog hop. If you are following the hop you should have come here from the lovely Tiets. All members of the Design Team are sharing cards made with one of the new 6 digi stamps which have been released at 9am today at Funky Kits.

The image I have used on my card is called 'Boy with Presents', he is so sweet and was so lovely to colour in with my Promarkers. I used bright colours to match these Christmassy papers which I had left over from last year's Christmas stash. I also used a large Whimsy stamps stamp for the Christmas list. I die cut a swirl from green paper using a Tim Holtz die and added some gingham ribbon and a wooden snowflake topped with a button and finished with a few little gems.

My Profile on the Letraset Website!

Morning Everyone! I hope you are well. I sent an artist profile in ages ago toLetraset and didn't think I stood a chance of it being published on the website. But I had a wonderful surprise when I received the latest copy of the Letraset Newsletter.

Critters and Cogs for the Letraset competition.

I have made a card to enter the Letraset competition that the very lovely Enfys is running on her blog. Paula at Pollycraft is having a Critters and Cogs party this week and Trix is one of the newly released images and as with all the other Critters and Cogs she is such fun to colour in.

I took inspiration from these fabulous Echo Park Little Boy papers to colour my image. For once, I did not use my sewing machine but I have used some fab orange trim I have had for a long time and a button from a treasured jar of buttons I received from my lovely Hubby for my Birthday last year. They are so lovely, I have only used a couple so far, they are almost too nice to use!

Here is a close up of my coloured image. I used the following colours:

Lime Green, Pear Green, Marsh Green
Red, Poppy,Crimson
Mandarin and Apricot
Duck Egg Blue and Cool Aqua
Gold and Tulip Yellow

Letraset Competition - Blending pairs

Just a quick post to share a photo I took yesterday for my entry to the Letraset Blending pairs competition. I love my Promarkers so I just had to enter!

Letraset would like to see our favourite blending colours for the chance to win some of their new packs of Promarkers.


In the photo above you can see 4 of my favourite combinations, there are many many more I use and I discover new combinations all the time! Lime green/pear green, is an old favourite, I use it a lot and rose pink/antique pink is one of my recent discoveries.

Every participant will be entered into a draw to win all 3 new sets.

These packs are great for beginners as they make it easy to select the colours to get depth and expert shading for your images.

Christmas is sweet!

I have a quick share for you today. This is a card I made using one of the new lovely Cherry kisses images. This image is called 'Christmas is sweet' and it is one of my favourites.

I made the card using scraps from my neverending scrap box and pulled them all together with stitching and ribbon, a button and twine from The Ribbon Girl. I coloured the image with my Promarkers, her face does not look quite as pale in real life.
I hope you are having a good weekend. We are having a quiet day today, I am going food shopping and then for a coffee with my Hubby and that's it.

A card for my Best Friend !

I have a quick share for you today! This is the card I made for my Best Friend's Birthday. I have know Fiona for as long as I have known my Hubby and we have so much fun together. In our younger days we got up to allsorts of silly things and have been on allsorts of adventures...

I made the card using some Hanglar and Stanglar images which my friend Petra gave me. They are adorable and so lovely to colour in. I couldn't resist using lovely bright colours and chose this DCWV paper as I loved the reds, blues and greens contrasting with the crisp white.

As the image was quite large for the card, I kept the layout simple. I matted the backing paper on to red textured card and cut out the bench using Nesties and layering it on a red scalloped panel. After colouring the images with my Promarkers I cut them out and then added them to the bench with foam pads.
There are no inked edges on this card and no glossy accents! The letters I used are Prima and Making memories and the flowers and gems are from my stash.

A card for a 'Cool Brother' and a freebie.

I had a play last night with my Promarkers and papers and made a card for my oldest Son to give to his younger Brother for his birthday at the end of the month.

I used an image from Di's Digi Downloads called 'On the bench'. Jack is footie mad and this little boy actually looks like him a little and the little dog is like our Puppy Charlie.

I used a spotty backing paper from the DCWV Safari Stack and coloured the image to match it.
The ribbon is from Hobbycraft and the letters are Making memories and My Little Shoebox.

A mini monster card

A quick ost today to share the card some of you saw a sneak peek of on my desk yesterday. I needed a little card to put in with a letter to a Friend and I wanted something to make them smile so the Cogs and Critters from Pollycraft were ideal.

I printed Fluffy on to linen card and coloured him in with Promarkers. I cut him out with a Nesties shape, inked the edges, punched a Stampin up tab shape, stamped it with an Elzybells sentiment, inked the edges and then added it to the image.
I covered the base card with yellow textured card and then added a panel of K+Co paper from the Actopus to Zelephant pad.
As a finishing touch, I added a tiny button and some glossy accents.

No1 bear

I have another Men's card to share with you today, the colours of the Doodlebug papers I used for yesterday's card really inspired me so I decided to make another card with them. For this card I used the 'No1 bear' digi stamp available here from Di's Digi downloads.

I printed the image onto textured cardstock and coloured it with Promarkers before cutting it out. I added glossy accents to the centre of the rosette and the bear's nose. The layout is vey simple and I used up some of the scraps left from my previous card. The letters I used are by Papermania as is the button and the pearl is by Prima. I have really enjoyed using these Doodlebug papers and I have lots left so expect to see more of this colour combo soon!

A card for Dad

I made this card last night using a pack of Doodlebug papers I picked up in TKMaxx on Sunday.
I used an A6 card for a change and it was quite fun to work with a different shape of card for a change.
The letters I used are from Prima and the button was from my stash.

I used the special Ronnie digi which was designed by Paula to help Emma raise funds in memory of her Dad. He is perfect for Father's Day cards and all those hard to make Men's cards.
"Ronnie'' is available to buy for only £1.50 directly from Emma and also from the Pollycraft shop. ALL proceeds from the sales will go to the YAA.

A brave night

I have another Pollycraft card to share with you today using one of the new Cuthbert and Kiki images which were released on Monday. I made a very simple card which could be used for Father's Day or a Birthday.

The papers I used are by K+CO. The image was coloured with Promarkers, I love this combination of brown with green! The button is from American crafts and the string was a pressie from my friend Petra.
The letters are from Prima, I really love this range of letters, they are my favourite at the moment.

Cuthbert at the beach!

Paula at Pollycraft will be releasing some new Cuthbert and Kiki images next week and we lucky Design Team members have been having a play with them. This card was made as a commission from a Friend and she specifically asked for a bear flying a kite. Paula very kindly drew this image for me a few weeks ago and let me have it early to make the card for my Friend. Thanks so much Paula! You are a star!

I used DCWV textured card and American crafts paper to create a simple layout as I wanted the image to take centre stage. I printed the sentiment onto the backing paper and cut it out with Spellbinders label dies.
As a finishing touch, I added some gems, ribbons and some paper flowers.

A Celebration number card for the Die Cut Dreams Challenge.

I have a quick share for you today. I had to whip up a quick card on Monday for my Son to give to his Friend as he had an impromptu cinema outing for his Birthday.
I made a card with a number on it which fits the theme for my friend Susie's Die Cut Dreams current Challenge which is to make a Celebration card that must have a number on it.

I used an image which was a freebie from Bugaboo which I had already printed out in my stash and coloured it to match the papers from Papermania's It's a Man's world paper stack. The letters and numbers were cut with Sizzix dies and the little stars were from Accessorize.
The finished card looks a bit wonky but I think it is an optical illusion caused by all the different patterns.

A new Willow Sketchie Challenge

It's Thursday already so time for another Willow Sketchie Challenge. This week we were given another lovely Ballet fairy image to play with and a sketch by Sharon.

The recipe that Sharon wanted us to incorporate into our card layouts this week was:

1. Something pleated

2. Something pink

3. Something floral

All the papers I used, are from the new Henbury lane collection by Papermaia. I added some pink pleated gingham ribbon, a couple of Imaginesce flowers and some Prima gems. The image was coloured with Promarkers and I added glitter to the wings and the edge of the image panel.

Di's Digis for Sketch Saturday

With all my DT commitments, I don't often have time to enter Challenges but I had some unexpected time at home today as my Son has caught the nasty throat bug that is going around so I decided to enter the Sketch Saturday Challenge with a card made with my new Hampstead Papermania papers. I love this collection, the colours are amazing.

I consider myself an extremely lucky crafter as I am on the Design Team of some of the most talented Digi Artists I know, Paula from Pollycraft, Sharon from Willow Designs and Jane from Jane's Doodles produce the most wonderful images and I am so lucky to be able to play with them and join in with all the fun that being part of their Design Teams brings. I had some wonderful news on Friday as Di, another extremely talented Designer asked me to join her Design Team. The card above is my first DT offering as part of Di's Digi downloads Design Team and I just love this image! Di has so many gorgeous images in her shop and I can't wait to show you more!
Here is the sketch for this week on Sketch Saturday, it was a lovely sketch to follow and a perfect way to christen my new Papermania papers! I also used a new Martha Stewart punch I bought yesterday. The sentiment is by Hero Arts and was cut out with a Nesties label shape.
I hope you all had a lovely weekend. I am really looking forward to the extra day off tomorrow, I have lots of images ready to colour and papers chosen ready to make into cards :-)

Pollycraft Monday Challenge - Make your own Flowers

It's Monday already which means it is time for a new Pollycraft Monday

Challenge. The theme this week chosen by Michele is 'Make your own flowers'. I chose to use this adorable image of Felicity on a swing. I have made a card in a similar style to this a while back using a Monkey swinging from a tree and was inspired by this card by Emma to have another go.

I used an old Hobbycraft punch for the leaves and the string is by East of India. One of my crafting staples at the moment.
I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut her out making a slit at the bottom of her hands to thread the string through. I mounted the image with foam pads.

I made a flower from Kraft paper loosely following the tutorial in the Magnolia mag. I don't have a large flower punch so I used a Nesties flower shape. The smaller roses are from my local Craft shop and all papers used are Basic Grey Wisteria.

How gorgeous is this? I just love all the polka dot papers!

My First Pollycraft DT card!!! Day 2 of the Previews!

I am SO excited to be able to share my first ever card today as part of the Pollycraft Design Team.

We are all hyped up at Pollycraft and the very talented ladies of the Design team have been working their socks off creating some fabulous cards to give you all sneaky peeks of Paula's exciting new designs.
The previews started yesterday and today for day 2 I have made a card using the cutest robot ever: 'Made with Love'. Isn't he just adorable? I used some Coordinations card to mount my image panel onto and made a simple card base using my Nesties, covering the front with some DCWV card. I used a heart shaped button to echo the heart in the image.

The sentiment I used is from Hero Arts but there will be a set of clear stamp sentiments available which match the images perfectly on the release day.

My DT card for the next Willow sketchie Challenge

It's time for another Willow Sketchie Challenge and this time Heidi has given us a lovely sketch to work with and a Recipe theme: 3 buttons, 2 papers and 1 ribbon.

I used some lovely papers from the Walter Owl download and this week we got to have a play with the Grace digi stamp. She is so lovely to colour in and I coloured her with my Promarkers using lovely pastelly shades. The Butterfly button was bought in France and the mini buttons are from a little shop in Cornwall.
The ribbon is from Craftwork cards.

Heidi's sketch was very chic and classic and lovely to follow, I will definitely be using it again.

I love Digi Challenge 4: A recipe

It's time for another Challenge at I love Digi Challenge blog. We had loads of entries last fortnight and it was so much fun looking at all your Easter Projects and cards, Thanks so much to all of you who took part. This fortnight we are sponsored by Bee Crafty and the DT were given images to work and we have a recipe to follow: 3 Papers, 2 Brads, 1 Embellishment.

I had this lovely image of a little flower girl to play with, her flowers really reminded me of this Funky Hand paper from the Papercraft Factory CD. I teamed it with 2 more papers from the collection and used one of them to paper piece the dress.
I added a Stampin Up brad to the centre of the flower in her hair and to set off my Hero Arts sentiment. My embellishment is my flower.

Bugaboo Crabby Cathy card

A quick post today to share a card I made for a colleague who returned to work with us this month.

I just love these Bugaboo images and they are so much fun to colour in. I used a Making Memories ledger paper to print the sentiment onto. I then printed the image and coloured it in with my Promarkers. I added glossy accents to the clock. The little stars are stick on earrings from Claire's accessories.
I snuck off to the NEC yesterday for a couple of hours and bought a few new bits of stash. I have a day off today so I may be back later if I have a chance to take a photo of my new goodies :-)
