Lucy's Sketches - Sketch 3

I am really enjoying Lucy's sketch week! I was going to have an early night tonight as I had a busy day but as soon as I saw Lucy's third sketch I just had to make a card with it! Making the card was really quick, the longest part of the process was finding the tiny sentiment stamp which I knew I wanted to use and was nowhere to be found.

I used some My Mind's eye papers and a matching chipboard cherry as a starting point for my card. I wanted to do something a bit different for the circle in the sketch. I've been wanting to try this technique for a while. It's my first try so it's not perfect but I am quite pleased with the result. To make the gem circle, I traced around a Nesties shape lightly in pencil. I then pierced holes where I wanted each gem to be and rubbed out the pencil lines. I then added the gems over each pin prick hole with my Quickie glue pen! Simples!

  1. Very beautiful Jane! I especially love your patterned paper and how you matched it with the chipboard element!

  2. Fantastic! Love the colors and the simplicity of this card!

  3. Love the papers and stitching on this, and the gems look lovely too. I live in Thatcham, not far from Bracknell, it's a small world lol!

  4. That sentiment is ADORABLE. And I love the fun paper and matching chipboard. Gorgeous sparkling card!
