A summery Sassy for the Sugar Bowl Challenge

Hi Everyone, I am still trying to enter a few more Challenges than usual and I do love a sketch Challenge so I couldn't resist using my favourite Sassy Hippie Chick with the sketch from the latest Challenge in the Sugar Bowl. The theme is Summer and I think my Sassy looks pretty Summery here.

The sketch was lovely to work with and I used Kraft card with Emma's Shoppe Crate paper papers and lots of distressing and sewing. The sentiment is by Cat's life press and is one of my favourites, I love the font with the brackets. Here is the lovely sketch by Marlene.

I coloured my image with Promarkers and then added Prima flowers with Whiff of Joy brad centres, a resin flower and a gorgeous crochet flower which was generously donated to me by my lovely blog buddy Emma. I finished with a couple of small pink gems.
Edit!! Just realised I missed the deadline for the Challenge by an hour, duh! Nevermind, at least I am trying!! :-)
Have a good evening!

CES Challenge - Anything but a square

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you had a good week. I have been busy this week so I am glad the weekend is finally here. I have a day of crafting lined up today catching up on DT work and Magazine commissions then I am going out for a drink tonight with my lovely Hubby.
Saturday is CES Challenge day and the theme this week is ....'Anything but a square'. I love square cards but also love making shaped cards with my Nesties so I have used one of my new Spellbinders Grand Nesties to cut a large scalloped circle card.

I used Echo Park Metropolitan and Candy Shoppe papers to cover the card and then coloured in Poorly Chester from Pollycraft to match with my Promarkers. I stamped a Hero Arts Sentiment and cut it out with a Spellbinders labek die and added Chester and the sentiment to the card with foam pads before adding glossy accents to Chester's eyes. The finishing touch was a stripy bow made from ribbon from my stash.
I hope you will be able to join us for this week's Challenge for the chance to win a £10 voucher (not incl P&P) from Crafty Emma's Store:

Sweet New Baby!

Hi Everyone, I hope you are well and having a good week so far. My ear is still playing me up a lot so I spent yesterday afternoon and evening in bed listening to the radio and feeling sorry for myself!
I have another baby card to share with you today. A few of my Friends are having babies and I am loving making baby cards this year!

I made this card using papers from my stash, I love this shade of duck egg blue and the Baby Love Mini Doodle set from Pollycraft. I love the fancy sentiments in this set. I added ribbon and pearls and not much else to this card. The finishing touch was a little glitter glue to make the cloud sparkle.

You Rock!!

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good week. I have a card to share with you today which I made using the rubber version of the Fenella and Friends 'You Rock' stamp which is also available in digi format here.

I have made a bright and fun C6 card using some My Mind's Eye papers and Kraft. I love mixing Kraft with all the bright colours and also the effect you get when you emboss Kraft card as I have done with the star on this card. I used a Tim Holtz label to stamp my sentiment onto and used a couple of eyelets to hang a charm from and tie my Baker's twine through. My image was coloured with Promarkers and then added to all the layers with foam pads. Have a great Wednesday!

I layered up some DCWV papers and some yellow paper from my stash. I added some red fancy ribbon to the layers before popping Henry on top with some foam pads. Pollycraft Monday Challenge - Travel/Holidays

Morning Everyone! I hope you had a lovely weekend, mine was very busy, I made 10 cards for a commission on Friday, got a new phone on Saturday and spent a fab afternoon and evening with my Best Friend and her little boy and went out for lunch with Hubby and the kids for Father's Day yesterday. I will be back tomorrow to share the card I made for him this year. It's a shame the weekend had to end but the good thing about Mondays is that we bring you a new Pollycraft Challenge and the theme this weeks chosen by our new DT member Cazza is:
Travel /Holidays

It took me a while to decide what I was going to make and then settled on one of the fabulous new Sonny Honeycloud images, this one is called Life's a Beach so I just had to create a beach scene for her to stand in!

I used scraps from my scrap box layered up with lot of sewing to create a sandy beach and tucked a flower between the layers before sewing them together. I used some sentiment stamps to stamp into a ticket which I had stamped onto Kraft card and added it to the bottom right hand corner of the card. I printed Sonny onto smooth card and then coloured her in with Promarkers before cutting her out and adding her to the card with foam pads. The finishing touch was a ribbon tab topped with a spotty button. I hope you will be able to join us for this week's Challenge for the chance to win a voucher for My Mum's Craft shop who are opening a Bricks and Mortar shop in one of my favourite places...Poundbury in Dorset!

Pink for a Girl and Blue for a Boy

Morning Everyone! I have a quick share for you today of two New Baby cards I made recently. I love this little Hero Arts fox stamp, it's very sweet and so versatile!

The cards were made using shaped card bases from Crafty Emma's Store and the blue patterned paper is by Hero Arts. I stamped the fox onto the blue paper and cut him out adding a little black pearl for the nose.

I added an embossed panel of white card to a panel of Kraft and sewed around the edges. The sentiment was created using a Whiff of Joy stamp and Making Memories cork letters I have had in my stash for ages.
I added the little fox above the sentiment with foam pads and finished with a couple of stick on gems.
Have a great Friday! I can't wait for the weekend to start! It has been a long week!

The papers I have used are from Bobunny and the gorgeous pink ribbon is from The Ribbon girl and the little sentiment is from Pink Petticoat. I kept the layout simple and coloured my image with Promarkers adding some pink highlights to the wedding dress and some glitter glue to make it sparkle.

Happy 40th Birthday Tash!

Morning Everyone! I hope you are all well and having a good week. I am feeling a little under the weather this week and am looking forward to the weekend already! I have a card to share with you today which I made for my lovely Friend and Hairdresser Tash. I have known Tash since our boys went to Beavers together and now they are in the same tutor group at Secondary school. She is one of the funkiest ladies I know so I wanted to make her a really special 40th birthday card.

I had already decided that I wanted to to use bright pink on the card with lots of glitter so I was really thrilled when I found this pink tulle ribbon in my local Craft shop and the rest of the card grew from there. I die cut the letters from the pink glitter card using Sizzix dies and made the rest of my sentiment with a label maker.

I love this cute little The Greeting Farm image an had lots of fun colouring her in. This is the first time I have tried darker hair and I am really pleased with the results. The paper I used is by Kanban and I layered it up with pink and black card and added lots of stitching. I finished with gems and some small bright pink flowers from my stash. I hope you have a great Wednesday!

CES Challenge - Saturday night at the movies!

Good Morning Everyone and welcome to my new followers! Thank you so much for all the lovely comments you have left me this week, I am trying hard to get around as many of your blogs as possible but I have been so busy lately! There are not enough hours in the day!
The lovely Carrie has chosen our theme this week on the CES Challenge blog and she has chosen...

Inspired by a movie!
Now this can be your favourite movie or one that you have seen ..just make sure you tell us what movie it is!

I have inked up one of my new Sassy Girls to make a card inspired by Sex and the City. I thought this gorgeous 5th Avenue Sassy girlie is a bit like Carrie with her fab shoes and slinky dress. I loved watching SATC when it was on TV and I loved the films too, even though the 2nd one was a bit silly!

I used Echo Park papers from the Be mine and Dots and stripes papes and some black tulle which was given to me by a Friend to make a fab bow topped with a sparkly shoe. The sentiment is by Whiff of Joy. I layered up my panels with black card, added lots of stitching and stuck them on to a shaped card base.
I hope you will be able to join us for this Challenge for the chance to win a fab £10 gift voucher from Crafty Emma's Store

Make sure you check out the Challenge blog for all the details and lots of inspiration from the DT!

I don't have this stamp but found this Simply Sassy High School student stamped image in my stash and I love her, not sure how I got her though! I made my card using Emma's Shoppe Crate paper papers and the fab Simply Sassy image compliments the book paper so well! I coloured my image with Promarkers and added a Pink Petticoat sentiment which I cut with a Spellbinders die. The fabulous ribbon and button are from The Ribbon Girl and the flowers are from my stash.

My first Some Odd Girl card for Sketch Saturday

Good Morning Everyone!Thank you so much for the messages of Congratulations you sent me yesterday Linkregarding my WOJ DT position, your words of encouragement mean so much to me! I always love the Sketch Saturday sketches but often run out of time to take part so I made a special effort this week to enter using some new goodies I treated myself to from Quixotic Paperie.
This is my first 'Some Odd Girl' stamp. I have seen these popping up on several blogs and I couldn't resist buying one to try it out and I love it! I also love the sentiment that comes as part of the set. I will have to get more when they come back in stock!

I used Cosmo Cricket papers layered on Kraft to follow the sketch and added some pom pom trim and a flower from Hobbycraft in matching tones. The image was coloured with Promarkers. I gave the balloon a coat of Glitter glue which I the covered with Glossy accents to make it very shiny and glittery and I am really pleased with this effect.

sketch - Page 018

The sketch was great to follow, I had to keep checking it to make sure I didn't miss anything out, I think I got everything in! I am a bit tired this morning, I went out last night to have dinner with some dear Friends and my lovely Hubby gave me a lift so I had a couple of glasses of wine and I can really feel it this morning!

Exciting News!!! Whiff of Joy DT - Bundle of Joy

I have some very exciting news to share with you today! Katharina has asked me to stay on as part of the permanent Whiff of Joy DT! I am so thrilled! I have loved working with all the gorgeous Whiff of Joy stamps and products and am looking forward to creating many more Projects as part of the team. Soooo, today I have my first official Whiff of Joy DT project to share with you and I have chosen to make a Baby boy card using the beautiful Willow holding Baby and the Baby sentiments set.

I stamped my image onto smooth white card and coloured it with Promarkers in gorgeous pastel colours. I cut it into a rectangle and then used a circle punch to cut notches into the corners to match the Spellbinder die I used to frame it. I layered up papers and sewed around the edges and used a border punch to make a decorative strip in the centre of the card. I added lots of gorgeous flowers and a white bow topped with a pearl button and stick on pearl.

Here is a close up of my image, I think it is so sweet and I love the sentiment too with the different fonts mixed together. I finished the card off with a few stick on pearls. The papers I used were from my local Craft shop. I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

More Pink!!!

Morning Everyone! You may need sunglasses for this one! I have another pink card for you today! I have been using a lot of pink lately and I love the bright pink on this card. I made this little card with some leftovers from a card I made for a Friend's birthday which I will share with you next week.

I have fallen in love with all my The Greeting Farm cards again after rediscovering them in my boxes, I always loved colouring them in with my Promarkers and I still do! I used some strips of pink polka dot paper around the edges of the card and embossed a square of pink card for the centre. The ribbon is from my stash and the Tulle bow was made from scraps I was going to throw away, I topped it with one of my favourite buttons and a gem. I made the label sentiment on my Dymo machine and stuck it on with a foam pad. The finishing touch was a gem in the little cutie's hair and some glitter glue to give her a sparkly hairband.
Have a great Tuesday!

Pretty in pink for a Mummy to be

Good Morning Everyone, I hope you are having a good Weekend. My Friend asked if I would make a card for her to give to one of her colleagues who is a Mummy to be and is leaving to start her Maternity leave.
I used my The Greeting Farm Mummy stamp again. I love colouring these images, they are so cute! I coloured her in pink this time and used American Crafts and Prima papers with some pastel pink card.

I added a pretty soft pink organza bow and lots of pink flowers and finished with a couple of pink gems.
I hope you all have a lovely day, we are going out today to celebrate my Grandma's 90th Birthday, I hope I manage to make it through the day without any incidents, I have been very clumsy lately, I managed to shut my thumb in a door yesterday and it really hurts today!
