New York and the Pollycraft Monday Challenge - Anything goes

Hello Everyone! I am sorry I am a bit later than usual in showing you my card for this week's Pollycraft Challenge. I was away last week for half term in New York! We had an amazing time!
I will add some pictures to this post to show you a few things we saw but before I get to that, I have my card to share with you which I made for this week's Pollycraft Challenge. The theme this week is 'Anything goes' so I took this as an opportunity to use my favourite digi hunk Maurice! I made a card for someone at work who is retiring this week, a couple of days after his 65th Birthday.
He is an Arsenal fan so I made the card using some red spotty Echo Park papers and other patterned papers from my stash. I used a Tim Holtz die to cut the rosette and the numbers and the fence die is by Whiff of Joy.

Here is a close up of the gorgeous Maurice, coloured in with Promarkers and I added some glossy accents to his glasses.
I decorated the inside of the card to make it extra special using a football stamp and a sentiment stamp by Some Odd Girl. I hope you will be able to join us for this week's Challenge for the chance to win a 5pk promarker set by Letraset

Make sure you check out all the details on the blog where you will see some fabulous projects from the DT. And now it's time for lots of photos from New York!

We stayed in a Hotel just off Times Square, it was amazing during the day and even more spectacular at night!
We were very lucky to get to see the Addams Family on Broadway, it was a great show!

On our first night we went up to the top of the Empire State building, we started queuing in daylight and it was dark when we reached the top.
The views were amazing, New York is so beautiful at night!

I loved the mix of old and new buildings and it was great fun walking around.
Rockefeller Plaza and 30 Rock was so tall you got dizzy just looking up to see the top!
We took the boat over to the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island to the Immigration Centre, the museum there is fascinating.
Last photo, the Statue of Liberty! Simply Stunning!
I will definetely be going back as there is still so much I want to do and see there.
Have a great Monday!

Sugar Nellie Showcase Sunday

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all having a good weekend so far. Just a quick post to share this card made with the adorable 'Faye and Freddie' stamp which is available here from Funky Kits.
I made especially for today as I am being showcased on the Sugar Nellie blog! How exciting and such an honour!

I have been saving this last treasured scrap of a piece of strawberry patterned paper for a special project for ages and I knew it would be perfect to go with this stamp as soon as I received it. it was a bit too small to cover as much of the card as I had wanted so I made it so I matted it onto pink card before adding it to some vibrant green textured paper. I coloured the image to match with my Promarkers and then added some ribbon, a strawberry charm some of my favourite flowers and a Martha Stewart die cut doily.
Elaine is also showing some more of my Sugar Nellie cards on the blog today, you can read the post here.
Have a great Sunday!

Pollycraft Monday Challenge - Something Spooky!

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you had a good weekend! I love weekends as there is so much more time to craft!! Mondays are good too as of course as Mondays are Pollycraft Challenge day! I am not a fan of the dark nights were are having but I do love Halloween and Mary J has chosen a great theme for this week...
Spooky goings On!

I have made a card using some fab Halloween papers that have been in my stash for ages and I
combined them with yet another Swings and Slides image. This one is called 'Lil Spook' and you can get him here from Pollycraft.

I coloured him in with Promarkers and then also coloured the background around him for a bit of a change, I love the way it makes the image pop! I matted the layers onto black card with stitching in orange thread and then tied twine around one of the layers before sticking everything together, the sentiment was cut from one of the papers.
I hope you will be able to join us for this week's Challenge.

LinkThe prize for our lucky winner this week is..

Whiff of Joy DT for the Whiff of Joy Challenge

Hello Everyone! The weekend is nearly here! The theme for this fortnight's Challenge on the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog is 'Anything but Square'. I love making shaped cards so this one was right up my street!

I have made a card base using a Nestabilities Grand Scalloped circle and cut another circle from turquoise card the same size to which I stitched another scalloped circle cut from My Mind's Eye papers from the Everyday Flair 6x6 stack. I then stamped the adorable Henry 'Huge Love' onto white card and coloured him in with Promarkers and stamped him again onto gingham card and paper pieced the heart onto Henry, cut him into a rectangle which I layered onto blue card and stitched around the edges. I stitched a gingham heart to a scalloped heart and stamped it with a sentiment. I then finished with a bow and some flowers and gems.
Have a great Friday!

Good Morning Everyone! I apologise for my absence the past few days, I have stepped down from the CES Challenge DT as I am so busy these days so my regular DT post was missing. I hope you had a lovely weekend, mine was busy, lots of crafting Saturday and lots of sorting out my bedroom yesterday. My wardrobes now have hanging rails and I have finally been able to put my clothes away! Anyway, enough of my weekend, I have a lovely card to share with you today!

Our Challenge theme this week on the Pollycraft Challenge chosen by the lovely Cazza is....

Girls, Girls, Girls!

I love the Swings and Slides and had so much fun colouring this Lil Kitty image, a lot of my teamies chose her as well this week, it is such a sweet and girly image.
I used My Mind's Eye papers to create my layout and coloured the image using Flexmarkers. I used some lovely ribbon from the Ribbon Girl and flowers from my stash and the adorable Butterfly button is from Crafty Emma's Store. I hope you will be able to join us for this week's Challenge. Our sponsor is Sew Sweet and they are offering a £10.00 voucher to spend in their lovely Shop.
