Happy New Year!! Fill your hearts with love and laughter in 2012!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are having a lovely New Year's Eve. I promised I would be back with some new cards and the card I have to share today is made with one of the new stamps which will be released in January at Whiff of Joy. The stamps are all Valentine or Love themed and I love them!

This little penguin is adorable and I have teamed him with some gorgeous My Mind's Eye Love Me papers and a gorgeous ribbon from The Ribbon Girl. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and I stamped a tiny heart on a Tim Holtz die cut label and coloured it with turquoise glitter glue to make it sparkle. I attached the tag to the bow using a heart shaped pin which is also from The Ribbon Girl.

Whiff of Joy DT for the Whiff of Joy Challenge

Good Morning! I have a card to share with you today which I made using one of the lovely new mini stamps released at Whiff of Joy this month. The stamp I used on my card is called 'Henry with Love Balloon', and is available here from Whiff of Joy.

I have followed the sketch from this fortnight's Whiff of Joy Challenge and used some My Mind's Eye papers. I managed to stick the red backing paper on upside down so the text is the wrong way...oops! I used bits and bobs from my stash to embellish the card and added a small rose onto a die cut heart as a finishing touch.


The prize for this fortnight is a discount voucher for Whiff of Joy so you can treat yourself to some gorgeous new stamps!


The Challenge will run for four weeks this time as the design team are taking a little Christmas break! So you will have until the 3rd January 2012 to enter!

Pollycraft Monday Challenge - Punch it!

Good Morning Everyone! I can't believe it's nearly Christmas! I am really looking forward to Sunday and to seeing my boys open their presents. I am also looking forward to not making anymore Christmas cards for a while!

We have been having a break over on the Pollycraft Challenge and we have loved seeing all your entries to our four week Christmas Fun Challenge. I made my last (I hope!) Christmas card for this week's Challenge using Dexter the Penguin.
Sheena has chosen our Challenge theme of 'Punch it' and I used my Martha Stewart Snowflake punch to punch a border along the edge of my card. I used Fancy Pants Winterland Papers which are gorgeous and used some of the small label shapes mounted on card to add my sentiment to with Making Memories tiny alpha stickers. I then added a black gingham bow and some of the punched snowflakes. I added a pom pom to Dexter's hat and some glitter and finished with some tiny stick on pearls.
I hope you will be able to join us for this Challenge, the DT have made some fab cards to inspire you and we have a great prize for the winner. You can see all the details here!

Sugar Nellie DT - You're the best!

Good Evening Everyone! I hope you had a good weekend, mine has been busy but productive even though I am struggling this evening to get a card made for tomorrow, I have managed to break my Martha Stewart Punch around the page snowflake punch in the process...not impressed with myself at all!

I have a card to share with you today which I made using the beautiful Sugar Nellie Gorjuss Girl 'Just a Girl' stamp which is available here from Funky Kits, I love this image, she is so adorable in her little dress and cute boots. The papers I have used are by Fancy Pants Design from the Love Story pad. I used some ribbon from my stash and Whimsy Stamps sentiment stamps die cut with a stamp die. I added a wooden button from Crafty Emma's store, a flower and finished with some little pearls and a heart pin. Have a lovely evening!

Pollycraft Swings and Slides

Hello! I hope you are all ok and having a good week, I am so glad it is Friday! I don't have much planned this weekend so am hoping I will be able to fit in a bit of crafting.
I have a Christmas card to share with you today which I made using some of my favourite My Mind's Eye papers and one of the adorable new Swings and Slides images available here from Pollycraft.

I used a shaped card base and one of my favourite Christmas sentiments and added a wooden snowflake charm and lots of gems. The image was coloured with Promarkers and I added some glitter to the snow. I have my Work Christmas Party today so am hoping to get a lie in tomorrow!

Final day of the 12 days of Whimsy - Festive Holly Bunting

Hello! Yesterday was the last day of the 12 days of Whimsy over at Sugar Lump Studios and I finally got around to making my Festive Holly Bunting tonight.


I used Kraft card which I embossed with a snowflake folder to make the bunting panels and then added patterned papers from my stash which I cut into pennant shapes.


The letters are a free font from Dafont and the images and holly are from the Graphics Fairy.

The lace I used is from The Ribbon Girl. I hope I have made it in time to link up the Project on the Sugar Lump Studios blog!

Whiff of Joy mini stamps

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you had a good Monday. I am slowly getting ready for Christmas now and will be celebrating Christmas with my work Friends this week. I have a card to share with you today which I made using the adorable Mini Henry behind huge heart stamp which was released this month at Whiff of Joy.


I made a shaped card base using red card and a Nestabilities scalloped square and then topped it with two squares of patterned papers which I had sewn together. I then stamped Henry and coloured him in and stamped a little sentiment in the heart. I added some punched holly and gems and a little brown spotty button as a finishing Christmassy touch.

12 days of Whimsy - Day 9, 10 and Day 11 Projects

Hello again, I am back with my latest 12 days of Whimsy Projects. I can't believe tomorrow is the last day! I have had so much fun trying these mixed media Projects and have learnt a lot.

For day 9, I made a tag which I inked with distress inks and then stamped with a Hero Arts stamp before spraying with glimmer mist. I love the effect the glimmer mist gave to the stamped background. I layered up muslin and lace and also added lace to the bottom of the tag using my sewing machine.

I die cut and stamped and inked a smaller tag which I added on top of the lace and a photo from the Graphics Fairy which I mounted on to a scalloped circle cut from a book page. I finished with buttons, some silver leaf sprigs and buttons and a flower from Primark.

Day 10 was one of my favourit projects to make. I bought a cheap hardback book from a hardware store and covered it with stripey paper and then embellished it with music paper, a vintage postcard and stamp and a die cut heart which I inked and covered in chunky glitter. The photo corners which were embossed with silver powder are from Quixotic paperie and the lace was tea dyed as it was a horrible blue and white. The buttons were from a charity shop.


Today's project was great fun! Luckily, I had made my boys Chili con carne last night so I had a jar ready and waiting to be used. It had a black lid, so I heat embossed it with silver powder to make it pretty! The images I used are from The Graphics Fairy and I used flower soft for the snow.

I added music paper to the lid and a wooden snowflake topped with a pearl button and silver glitter glue around the edges of the die cut circle.

As a finishing touch, I added a seam binding bow and a wooden heart painted with distress paints, a little bell and a chandelier crystal. I can't wait to see what tomorrow's Project will be, although I am a little sad the 12 days are nearly over...

A New Home for Nanny

Good Morning Everyone! My Nanny, who celebrated her 90th Birthday this year, moved house at the end of last month. She had been in her old flat for a long time so it was quite an upheaval but she had been wanting to move for quite a while so we are all pleased she is now settled in her new Home.
I made her a little card to celebrate using some lovely bright summery colours. I love this Echo Park paper, the colours are so bright and cheerful, perfect for new beginnings.

The stamps I used are by Woodware and I also used some of my favourite gingham seam binding from The Ribbon girl. I did not do any crafting yesterday but I did buy some lovely vntage buttons, lace, music sheets and threads from a charity shop locally to use on the next 12 days of Whimsy projects and also decorated my house ready for Christmas. Let the festivities begin!
