Sugar Nellie New Release Blog Hop Day 2 - Ocean's Gift

Hello Everyone! Welcome back to my blog for day 2 of the Sugar Nellie New Release Under the Sea blog hop. If you have come here from Mina's blog you are right on track, If not please go back to the Sugar Nellie blog for the start of the hop. Today, the Design Team  are sharing projects made with the image 'Ocean's gift' which will be available to buy on Friday from Funky Kits. As a complete contrast to my card from yesterday, I have chosen soft pastel colours from my image. I love the grey, brown and cream colour combination and these papers which are from the Crate Paper 'Country Boutique' pad.

I coloured my image using Promarkers and then cut it out leaving a small border and cut the pearl off and replaced it with a large Prima pearl. I added lots of glitter and some netting and a resin flower from The Ribbon Girl. I finished with some old flowers and some buttons from my stash and a couple of little gems. I hope you are enjoying the hop so far, your next stop is the lovely and talented Tiets! Make sure you leave comments along the way for the chance to wins some Sugar Nellie Candy! See you tomorrow for day 3!

Whiff of Joy DT - Henry hiding on a Special Birthday card

Hello Everyone! It's Friday!! I am feeling quite tired now after my very early start to pick up my Son from the coach as he returned from his school trip. I have a Special card to share with you today which I made for my lovely Friend Madeleine who celebrated a Special Birthday this week. I made a card using some of the gorgeous new Dear Lizzy Neapolitan papers which I bought recently.

I created a template in Word for the numbers and printed them on the reverse of the paper after having a few stern words with my printer which decided to play up! I cut the letters out and then inked the edges with my brushes and distress inks and sewed around the outlines with my machine. I added the numbers to the card using foam pads. I wanted to include a little Henry on my card and decided the Mini Henry behind huge heart would be perfect.

I coloured him in and then cut all the pieces out and tucked him without the heart around the base of the number 5. I decorated the numbers with flowers and some stick on pearls and gems. The sentiment is an old favourite from my stash which I cut out with a Spellbinders label die and tied with twine. We had a lovely drink at lunchtime yesterday in the sunshine to celebrate Madeleine's special day. The Sun seems to be hiding today and the sky is grey. Let's hope it comes back soon! Have a lovely Friday.

My Mum's Craft Shop DT - Vienna and her Vespa

Good Morning Everyone! It's my day to share a card on the My Mum's Craft Shop Blog today!  I hope you are having a good week so far and the Sun is shining where you are. I am really enjoying the warm weather, it is so lovely to drive to work and home in the blazing sunshine instead of the rain. It makes such a difference to my day. I only wish I had a Vespa like Vienna on my card! I have used one of the lovely new Uptown Girl images on my card this week. She is very glamorous and is available to buy here from My Mum's Craft Shop.

I coloured Vienna in with my Promarkers to match these gorgeous Echo Park papers from the 'So Happy Together' pad. I love the papers in this collection. They are a great mix of papers with some also suitable for Men's cards as well as the feminine flowery papers. I added some funky ribbon and a button from The Ribbon girl and some stick on pearls and finished with a Stamping Bella sentiment and some little papers flowers to match the bright summery colours. I hope you have a lovely Thursday! I have a day off on Friday! I can't wait!

Love is in the air....

Hello Everyone! I am back with another evening post to show you a card I have made for my Husband for our 15th Wedding Anniversary which is coming up on Thursday. I love this time of year as we have lots of birthdays and things to celebrate all close together. I have made him a card using an adorable Lili of the Valley image called 'Meant to be' which is so cute! I have coloured my image to match the beautiful papers from the Country Boutique Fancy Pants papers which are great for Men's cards.

I used a sentiment by Lili of the Valley which actually reads 'Your' Anniversary instead of 'Our' but I wiped the ink off the 'Y' before stamping it out. I added some ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and a button and flowers from my stash and finished with one of my most used punches, the Martha Stewart Butterflies.I finished with some gems and pearls and some Tim Holtz word stickers.  I am entering my card into the latest Lili's Little Fairies challenge as the theme is 'A touch of Romance. Poppy's Baptism

Good Evening Everyone! I have had a very busy and lovely Weekend and I have lots of photos to share  with you. Today my Best Friend's daughter was Baptised and I am now officially her Godmother. We had a lovely day and the Sun shone all day! It was a very pink day and I made a pink and girlie Baptism card to match! I used papers from the gorgeous new Crate Paper 'Little Bo Peep' pad layered onto kraft  card with stitching around the edges. The image is by Mo Manning. I added some gorgeous Ribbon from The Ribbon girl, lots of flowers and created the sentiments on my PC.

I also made a box to match the card and decorated it using the same papers, flowers and Martha Stewart Butterflies. I am entering my card into this week's Papertake Weekly Challenge as the theme is 'All things Girlie'.

My Friend Petra made all the cakes and cupcakes and I went to set them all up on the cupcake towers before the Baptism. They tasted and looked gorgeous, nearly everyone commented on how pretty they were.

I just love the Poppies which were all handmade by Petra, the centres were all glittered, so much attention to detail!

It was Poppy's Birthday yesterday so the cupcakes were to celebrate her first birthday too. The kids loved them!

Here is Poppy's Big Brother helping her to blow out the candle on the cupcakes.

And here is my Beautiful Goddaughter relaxing in the ball pit in the garden, isn't she adorable!

And finally...here is my baby! He will be 13 next week. Doesn't he look handsome in his shirt :-)

Sorry about all the photos..I couldn't resist sharing my lovely day with you all. Have a lovely Evening!

My Mum's Craft Shop DT - A felt cushion

Hello Everyone! I am here to show you what I have been playing with this week from My Mum's Craft Shop! I have been playing with my felts and one of the new Sizzix dies which arrived last week.
I have used the Owl die which is very popular and has already sold out but there a loads of dies in this collection that would be suitable for this Project.

I started by cutting out a large scalloped circle to build the Owl design on after I had cut out all the pieces from different coloured felts. I managed to sew all the pieces together using my machine apart from the little feet which I had to sew by hand. I added a little heart cut from bias binding and then sewed the scalloped circle onto a felt square. I edged the cushion with bias binding before sewing it together. The little buttons for the eyes are from The Ribbon Girl. I hope you have a lovely Thursday!

Pure Innocence double peephole card

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you had a lovely Weekend, mine was very busy but great fun. I spent yesterday evening making a card one of my Friend's asked me to make for her daughter who has just passed her degree and got her first job. As it was a 2 in 1 card I thought multiple layers and peepholes may be the way to go, it was a bit of a challenge but I am really pleased with the how the card turned out!

I used some older Echo Park 12x12 papers and pink card and made the card base using Nesties and my
Grand Calibur machine. The images are Pure Innocence by Heather Ellis. There are two peepholes in the front of the card.

The first layer inside has another peephole and the 1st image. The sentiment was made using the writer function in a Funky Hand CD.

And this is the last layer. I apologise for the quality of the photos! It looks so much better in real life!
I hope you have a lovely Monday.

Some Kaisercraft Inspiration and my beautiful Goddaughter

Good Morning Everyone! It's my day for sharing some projects on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog, the past few days, I have been playing with some of the gorgeous Tigerlily Kaisercraft papers and die cuts which are available  at My Mum's Craft shop. I first made a little card.  I used a Gorjuss girl stamp and coloured her in with my Promarkers to match the papers. I used a simple layout to show off the papers and die cut a topper using the Spellbinders postage die.

I stitched around the edges and added it on top of the flower paper which had been wrapped with bias binding from The Ribbon Girl before adding it to the card. I added lots of flowers, some leaves and pearls and finished with a little punched butterfly. I love these papers so much and the die cuts are great for decorating so many projects. When I was introduced to Papercrafting many years ago, I started with Scrapbooking but have not scrapped any photos for years so I thought I would give it a go using the scraps of papers I had left over.

I used a photo of my gorgeous Goddaughter Poppy. She will be Christened in 10 days and I can't wait for the big day! Here she is looking adorable in a very pretty little flowery dress and has fallen asleep while having a cuddle! The butterfly border is also from the paper pad as is the 'Dream' title.
I really enjoyed making this page and can't wait to do a few more now! Have a lovely Thursday!

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you had a good Monday. I am still feeling quite tired after my busy weekend and my mojo seems to have taken flight. Hopefully I will feel like doing a bit of crafting in the next few days! This week it is my turn to pick the theme on the Passion for Promarkers Challenge Blog and I have chosen my favourite...

'Gingham or Checks'

I have used a La-la Land Crafts image 'Sweetheart Marci' who is available in digi format here. She was so lovely to colour in. I chose colours to match these gorgeous My Mind's Eye papers which I layered onto kraft and sewed around the edges.

I stamped a sentiment from a 'Some Odd Girl' set straight onto the gingham paper and then added a gorgeous gingham ribbon from The Ribbon Girl which I tied in a lovely big bow. I added a spotty button also from The Ribbon Girl on top of the bow and finished with some stick on pearls and a little flower. I hope you will be able to join us for this month's Challenge. A fabulous day at Artstamps Newbury!

Hello Everyone! My very busy weekend is drawing to an end. I had a lovely day on Saturday catching up with old Friends and woke up today feeling a bit worse for wear but managed to pull myself together and go to the Newbury Craft Show. I had booked a place on the Barbara Gray Clarity stamps workshop as I have been wanting to learn how to brayer for years and always been too scared to try. The two hour Workshop was simply fabulous! Barbara is an amazing teacher and we learnt so much. We created the artwork below and learnt several techniques which I can't wait to try again.

I met up with the lovely Kitty and we did a bit of shopping, well I did quite a lot of shopping actually! This is what I came home with. Lots of lovely new goodies to play with! I loved the new Stamposaurus stamps and I bought some new papers and a few embellishments which will eventually be used in some 3d projects I will be tackling soon.

I signed up for the Craft Stamper mag subscription and got a fab pack of Carta Bella papers and a great goody bag full of bits to play with. I now finally own a Brayer too and some inks to get me started, I already want more! I signed up for Barbara's club when I got home too :-) Now I just need to find somewhere for all this to live! I hope you have a lovely evening.

My Mum's Craft Shop DT - Playing with Distress Inks and Inkylicious stamps

Hello Everyone! I am here with my usual Thursday post for the My Mum's Craft Shop blog. I have something a bit different for you today. I have been playing with some of the gorgeous new Inkylicious stamps which arrived last month at My Mum's Craft shop. I tried for the very first time blending the inks directly onto the card masking the edges with a Post-it note to get a clean frame around the inked area. I applied various distress inks using a brush and then stamped over the inked background with the Inkylicious tiny script stamp.

I stamped some Dandelions in Distress inks using the Make a Wish set . I used two shades of inks to give the image some depth and then stamped a sentiment over the top with Archival ink.
I added a small wooden button and a stick on gem as a finishing touch. I hope this will inspire you to try some of the new Inky products that Kitty has in stock now. Make sure you visit the blog today, we have some lovely Candy for a lucky person to win....

We were very kindly given some prizes from MFT for our Birthday Raffle but unfortunately they got held up at the Airport for ages so they arrived too late for the event :(
So we thought we would give everyone online the chance to enter too.. so we are giving away a set of 4 stamp sets, YES 4 STAMP SETS to one lucky winner!

All you have to do is make sure you are follower of the My Mum's Craft Shop blog and leave us a comment on the post
If you link back to this post on your blog or facebook etc we will give you an extra chance to win!

 Have a lovely Thursday!

I added the finished layers to the card and then die cut a scalloped circle from brown card and added a circle on top. I added these to the card and then coloured in the adorable Birdie Brown 'Girl with a rose' mage to match the papers, cut it out leaving a small border and then added it to the card with foam pads. A Father's Day card

Hi Everyone! I hope you had a lovely Weekend! Mine was busy but very nice! I went to the Sincerely Yours Craft Show yesterday and bought lots of new goodies to play with.

I have a quick share today. I had forgotten to share the cards I made for Father's Day with you so here is the one I made for my Dad. I used My Mind's Eye papers and an Image from the now closed Pollycraft. I accessorised with some buttons and a cog and some bling because you have to have a little sparkle...even for boys's cards! I hope you have a lovely Monday! I have big plans to rearrange my craft room, now I have been in it a few weeks, I want to move a few things around so I'm not sure how much crafting I will get done this week!
