A Vintage Chalkboard Christmas

Hello Everyone! I have another Christmas Card to share with you today. This one has a bit of a vintagey feel to it. I used some old My Mind's Eye papers which are really beautiful.I love the rich reds and golds and muted greens.

The focal point on my card is a Chalkboard effect panel made using an Indoigo Blu stamp I used last year on a Magazine Commission. It is still available here. I heat embossed it on to Black card with matt white embossing powder. It is not perfect but that is the look I was going for. I also distressed the edges of the panel before adding it to the card. I added some poinsettia die cuts from Tattered lace to the top left of the image with gold stick on pearls in the middle of each flower.

I wrapped my card layers in hessian ribbon  from The Ribbon Girl and pleated ribbon before adding them to the card base. I added a bow tied with luxurious satin ribbon  which I topped with a sparkly button. I tucked a little Martha Stewart punched holly leaf under the button and finished with more stick on pearls. I am off to do some Christmas Shopping in Reading with my Mum this morning. Wish me luck! Have a great Saturday.

A CAS Ribbon Christmas Tree

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a good week so far. I have a Clean and Simple Christmas card to share with you today which I made using a new Dienamics die I purchased from My Mum's Craft shop. I am hoping to make a few more of these before Christmas as they are great for using up Ribbon scraps.

I used the die to cut the apertures in a square of white card and added double sided tape running down each side of the tree. I then added various green ribbons from the Ribbon Girl.I used scraps of white spot grosgrain,, moss green satin  and some saddle-stitch ribbon in different shades of green and different widths.

I added a tiny scrap of bright red satin for the pot and added a tiny bow tied from twine and a sparkly star button from my stash to top the tree. I then added a square of kraft card behind the tree cut out before adding it to the card.

I am entering my card in to the latest 'Less is More' Challenge and the Moxie Fab World Treemendous Challenge. I hope you have a lovely Thursday!

A Christmas card and a Magazine giveaway

Hello! I am back, finally, with a card! I apologise for my absence, life has been very complicated lately and I have had very little time and enthusiasm for crafting for quite some time now. I now feel I am starting to get my mojo back and hope to be able to share my cards with you again if anyone is still reading! The card I am sharing with you today was made a couple of months ago but never blogged as a Ribbon Girl DT card.

The theme was pastels and I used papers from Lili of the Valley and a gingham from my stash to cover my card. I added some gingham bias binding and a gorgeous blue ribbon to wrap around my layers.

The gorgeous wooden snowflake is available here from The Ribbon Girl. I decorated it with a pastel button and stick on pearls and tied blue twine in the little hole in the top of the snowflake.

I finished with a sentiment by Polkadoodles, more pastel buttons and little paper rose. As a little celebration of my return to blogging and a Thank you for still following me, I have a copy of the latest issue of Quick Cards minus the free gift which features some of my Lili of the Valley cards.

Please leave a comment on this post if you would like to be entered into a draw to win the Magazine and I will pick a winner on Sunday. Thanks for stopping by! Take care and I will be back soon with another Christmas card.

MMCSDT - Just because

Hello Everyone! I hope you are well and having a lovely Weekend so far. I went to the horse racing at Ascot yesterday. We were lucky with the weather and not very lucky with the horses but it was a great day out. I am back with my regular Sunday post for the My Mum's Craft shop blog and I have been playing with some of the new Technique Tuesday stamps which arrived this week. I used the 'You did it' set on this card with some distress inks to create the central panel.

I cut out a panel of white card using a Spellbinders die and then blended Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet and Vintage photo  Distress inks. I stamped some of the flowers using Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet and the sentiment using brown Archival ink. I added a couple of little pearls and a little wooden button from my stash and layered everything on to some paper from a Bazzill Basics pack.
I hope you have a lovely Sunday!

My Mum's Craft Shop DT for the September Challenge - Die cuts and Punches

Hello Everyone! I am back! I have had a bit of a break from blogging over the Summer and am back now with my DT card for this month's My Mum's Craft Shop Challenge. Our theme this month is a nice easy one. It is dies and punches. My Cuttlebug is my most used piece of craft equipment so this was a perfect theme for me to return with. Apologies for the photos, they have come out a bit dark...I am out of practice!

I used a Hobby House die cut as the topper for my card and used some gorgeous Marianne Design papers which were donated to me by my lovely Friend Petra. I used Dienamics dies to cut the tags for the rub on sentiments. I added lots of gorgeous Ribbon Girl goodies including pearl stems, denim ribbon, hessian ribbon, tiny ric rac and lots of paper flowers.

Here is a close up of the gorgeous topper. I love using these images for my cards when I am not in the mood for colouring. There are lots of new Hobby House toppers and some gorgeous new flowers in stock too, check out the new arrivals here!
I hope you will be able to join us for this Challenge for the chance to win a voucher for My Mum's Craft Shop.Have a lovely Monday!

Ribbon Girl DT for the Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge - Aqua

Hello Everyone! It's been a while since I have shared a card with you on my blog. I am still incredibly busy and have not had much time to craft but took some time out this week to make a little hanging plaque as my DT piece for this month's Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge. Our  colour theme this month is Aqua, one of my favourite colours! I used some gorgeous papers from an old Glitz designs pad and the house I used as a centrepiece is a wooden shape from a pack of Christmas decorations I bought in a sale at M&S years ago.

I used lots of gorgeous Ribbon Girl goodies, including a white pearl and crystal branch, a wooden heart button, aqua ruffle edge sheer, aqua/silver glitter organza, Prima Treasure resin frame, aqua s/a gems, and my favourite mini cream vintage blooms. I used tea dye distress inks to age all the papers and the edges of the wooden shapes.

I am having so much fun with Instagram these days I have decided to trial using Instgram photos on my blog. I love all the different effects you can create and the frames and the fact that it is so quick and easy to use. I hope you will be able to join in with our Challenge. We are sponsored by Lisa and Laila at LOTV and also The Ribbon Girl who are offering one randomly chosen winner two prizes of:

Enjoy the rest of your Weekend!

Happy Birthday Fiona!

Hello Everyone! It's was my lovely Best Friend's Birthday yesterday and I made her a card using the fabulous Stamping Bella 'Beatrice and Barbara' stamp which is available here from My Mum's Craft Shop. I coloured the image to match the Wild Rose Studio papers I used using a mix of different markers and paper pieced the sofa and cushions.

I added lots of lovely flowers and bits and bobs from my stash and a Pink Petticoat sentiment. I also decorated the inside but I forgot to take a photo. I used the latest Sketch Saturday Sketch for my layout.

Here is a close up of my image. My colouring is a bit poor on this one, the image has so many details I struggled to stay within the lines! This is a very true representation of Fiona and myself, lots of fun times, giggle and adventures, she is the Sister I never had and I love her to bits. We are setting off on another one soon to Birmingham to see Robbie Williams.

This is us on one of our Adventures last summer to see Robbie at Wembley and is one of my favourite photos of us together. I will be taking a bit of break from regular blogging for a short while as I have a lot on my plate at the moment but I hope to be back here a lot more often when things have settled down. Have a lovely Wednesday!

A card for Dad

Hello Everyone! It's my day for sharing a card on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog today and I am showing another card made using the Carta Bella 'It's a Celebration' paper pad which is available here from My Mum's Craft Shop. As soon as I saw the paper patterns in the pad, I thought of funky summer shirts and used the Clearly Besotted 'Super Dad' stamps to create the shirts.

I added buttons to all the shirts and pockets to a couple of them before cutting them out and adding them to the card with foam pads. I stamped the sentiment on to vellum before stitching it on the card centre panel.

Here is a little close up of the sentiment and the shirts. I had so much fun choosing the patterns and making each shirt look different from the last one.  I am entering my card in to the latest Clearly Besotted Challenge, the theme is 'Anything goes'.I hope you have a lovely Sunday!

MMCSDT - Happy Summer for Spots and Stripes week.

Hello Everyone! I have a little taste of Summer for you today for my weekly post on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog to celebrate the lovely Sunshine we have had this week here in the South. We are having a Spots and Stripes week starting today, some of my favourite patterns! I used papers from the Carta Bella 'It's a Celebration' pad which is available here from My Mum's craft Shop.

The image panel was created using stamps from the Lawn Fawn 'Happy Summer' set and they were great fun to colour in. I die cut the finished image with an oval dienamics die.

Here is a close up of my image all coloured in with a variety of alcohol markers. I added some embellishments from my stash, including a stripy brad which fitted the theme very well!
Please join us for the rest of next week for more Spots and Stripes inspiration from the DT.
Have a lovely Sunday!

My Mums's Craft Shop DT - More Mama Elephant cards!

Hello Everyone! Apologies for my absence, I have been suffering with yet another bout of stubborn bronchitis. I have had another 2 courses of antibiotics and my chest is feeling a lot clearer but I am very tired! I have 2 more Mama Elephant cards to share with you today. I told you I was addicted to these new stamps!

Both cards were made using the Mama Elephant 'Nursery Deco' set and scraps of paper. The layouts are very simple and have very few embellishments. I used the Dienamics stitched circles on my first card for the little bear to sit in and added a wooden button from The Ribbon Girl.

The little giraffe on this card was paper pieced with gingham and white paper and I simply added a paper flower and stick on pearl as a finishing touch. I hope you have a lovely Sunday!

Some CAS Pandamonium cards

Hello Everyone! It's my day for posting on the My Mum's Craft shop blog today and I am showing something a little bit different for me. I have fallen in love with Mama Elephant stamps recently and have been experimenting with making some clean and simple cards for a bit of a change. They are so quick to make and I love the fact that they use up a lot of my scraps and leftover papers.

I used some good quality Papermania card bases that are a bit textured as I wanted to leave quite a bit of white space on the first one. I used a Dienamics snowdrift die to cut the blue card for the hills and stamped a sentiment from the Pandamonium set straight on to the card. I stamped the kissing pandas onto white card and cut them out before adding them to the card with foam pads. I then stamped a heart onto aqua card and cut it out. I added it to the card and then embellished it with glitter glue.

I used a scrap of My Mind's Eye paper for my second card. I stamped the Panda and the lantern onto white card and then die cut it using a stitched circle before I coloured the lantern with alcohol markers and added glitter glue. I then simply stamped the sentiment onto a strip of card and put it all together.
I hope you have a lovely Sunday!

A little bit of altered art

Hello! I have something a little bit different for you today. I actually made this a little while ago and have only just got round to photographing it. I made a little piece of Altered art using a box frame I picked up in the pound shop. I added a drawer pull handle to the top of it and some pearls to the base for it to stand on.

I decorated the inside with My Mind's Eye papers which were stamped with various script stamps and then added a small stamped canvas, a birdcage which I embossed with frantage embossing powder (how addictive is Frantage!!! I love it!). I also added a cameo, paper flowers,  a little frame and some wooden heart buttons.

I used one of the heart buttons to make a wing for the little bird. I also added some vintage lace and some other bits and bobs from my stash. All the items I have linked above are from The Ribbon Girl. I loved making this, I wish I had more time to spend on more complex projects like this as it was so much fun! I now have it on display on my landing at home.
I hope you enjoy the rest of your Friday and have a lovely Weekend.

MMCSDT - A Tiddlinks boy card for Character's week

Hello Everyone! I hope you are having a lovely Weekend. It's my day for posting on the My Mum's Craft shop blog today. Our theme this week is 'Characters' so we will be sharing projects featuring some of our favourite Character stamps. I have always had a soft spot for Tiddlyinks stamps and have a lot of them in my stamps collection but don't ink them up enough! I have used the stamps from the 'My Boys' set on my card today and coloured the image in with my Promarkers to match the Bazzill basics from the Adventures pack.

My new sewing machine arrived this week so I used it for the first time to sew on this card. My sewing was a bit wonky so I went round the image frame twice. I got the hang of it better when I sewed along the edges of the sentiment strip.

Here is a close up of my coloured image. I used a mix of alcohol markers and then cut out the image leaving a small border before adding it to my card. I used the sketch from yesterday's Sketch Saturday Challenge.

I am still trying to join in with more Challenges and Sketch Saturday is one of my favourites! Have a lovely Sunday!

My Mum's Craft Shop DT for the May challenge - Lots of layers

Hi Everyone! I hope you are having a good week so far. It's time for a brand new Challenge on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog today. Our theme this month is 'Lots of layers' which was a little bit of a challenge for me as I am enjoying making Clean and Simple cards more and more lately!

My sewing machine has broken so I was unable to do any sewing to my layers on this card. I used papers from the Carta Bella 'Baby Mine Boy' pad which is available here. The image I have used is 'Fluffy Bear Balloon' which is available here. I coloured him in using Graph'it Markers and added him to the card using foam pads.

The sentiment I have used is by Lawn Fawn and is part of this set. I coloured my image using lots of little dots to make the teddy look furry. It is the first time I have tried this and i think I need to practice a bit more! I hope you will able to join us for our latest Challenge for the chance to win a voucher to spend at My Mum's Craft Shop. Enjoy the rest of your week!

Best Friends Forever!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are having a good week so far. I am happy we are getting closer to the Weekend! I have a quick post to share with you today to show a little card I made using Mama Elephant Honey Bunny stamps.

I stamped the bunnies and then masked them and stamped around using different inks and a My Favourite Things ink splat stamp from this set.. I dotted matching stick on gems around the image and added glitter glue to the little tails and placed the image behind a dienamics polaroid die cut which I stamped with a sentiment. I embossed some kraft and stitched around the edges before adding it to my card and placed the topper at an angle on the card finishing with a paper flower and a stick on gem. I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

Easter bunnies

Hello Everyone! I hope you are having a lovely Easter weekend. I have been very busy decorating this weekend but it is all done now so I am heading out for a day out with my husband. I have a few little Easter cards to share with you today. I made these using scraps of patterned papers and some card blanks I found in Waitrose.

I simply used one card as a template to cut the patterned papers and inked around the edges with yellow distress inks. I added some loopy trim ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and some paper flowers. I used a paper carnation for the fluffy tail.

And here they are all finished! I hope you have a lovely Monday!

Ribbon Girl DT for the Ribbon Girl April Challenge - Yellow

Hello Everyone! As promised I am back with my DT card for this month's Ribbon Girl Colour Challenge. Our very appropriate for today colour theme is 'Yellow/Lemon' which took me right out of my comfort zone but I did enjoy the Challenge! I used a little sweetie called Puddle Jumper Fancy Girl from 'By Lori Designs' on my card. She is available here.

The papers I have used on my card are from the Echo Park 'Good Morning Sunshine' pad. I layered them on to kraft and also used a background chicken wire die for my image to sit on.
I used the following Ribbon Girl goodies on my card: Velvet Yellow Berisford ribbon, Sweetheart blossoms, linen button twine, Yellow twill stripe ribbon, bronze star charm, paper daisy, stick on pearls and a Polka dot button.

Here is a close up of my coloured image. I thought she would look really cute with a flower in her hair and little pearl earrings. I hope you will be able to join in with our Challenge and maybe show us your Easter creations.
