It's finally here! WOYWW week #52. The lovely Julia has been sharing her desk and allowing everyone else to share theirs with the world for one whole year. I first took part in October, I searched for my first WOYWW post and it is quite funny to see how empty and tidy my desk was compared to today.
I have actually had a bit of a clear out and got rid of a few bits and pieces I didn't want anymore and moved a few bits around. It's tidy as any recent crafting was done downstairs on the table as I was watching our Puppy.
Thanks to those of you who suggested storage solutions for my 12x12, in particular my good friend Pauline who works down the corridor from me and is an expert Scrapbooker as she suggested the RUB boxes and the 12x12 hanging files. I received mine yesterday and I have started to fill it up.
Now on to the important bit, I have been dying to share this since I made it last week! MY WOYWWAC challenge piece is an altered tissue box complete with the WOYWW letters.
I bought a tissue box blank from Hobbycraft and really went to town decorating it.... first I covered the lid, all the papers used are from My Mind's Eye. I added some Cosmo Cricket trim around the edge of the lid...
...I covered Chipboard letters with coordinating papers and embellished each side of the cube...
...I used all my favourite things, string, buttons, flowers, gems.....
.....I also added paper flowers and lots of butterflies.....
....I distressed the edge of each letter with inks to make it stand out against the background better. I am soooo pleased with this and it looks so pretty on my desk. Thank you so much Julia for all the hard work you put in to WOYWW each week and Thanks also to all you lovely ladies who comment on my desk every week. You are all wonderful and I am so lucky to have you as regular visitors to my little blog.
I hope you have enjoyed this extra special WOYWW and don't forget if you want to see more desks and Challenge pieces, please pop over to Julia's.
I am also entering this tissue box into this month's Sir Stampalot challenge which is to use punches, all the butterflies on my box were punched with Martha Stewart and a pop up butterfly punch.
Have a Wonderful Wednesday!
