A Shaped card for Someone Special...

I have a shaped card to share with you today which I made yesterday for my kids to give my lovely Hubby for Christmas. I used a template from Making cards to make the Star Shaped card. It was really simple to make and I love the finished result.

I cut the base card from Gingham card which I bought from my local craft shop and decorated it with scraps of green and red papers.

The little Santa in the centre is from Squigglefly, the large letter stickers have been in my stash for ages and fitted the space perfectly. All the other bits and bobs have been lurking in my stash for ages so I was really glad to use them on this project.
I am entering this card into the Winter Wonderland Challenge which is to create a shaped card and also into the Moving Along with times Challenge which is to create a card for Someone Special, as my Hubby is :-)
Have a good Thursday! My kids are as they have a day off school because of the snow.

Mini Halloween treat box

I finished off this little treat box tonight. I had started it yesterday using the same bits and pieces I used for my little Mummy ATCs. I am entering it in two blog Challenges. The Elzybells fortnightly challenge is to make a 3d project and the Moving Along with the times Challenge is 'Anything but a card'.

I used a template from Mirkwood designs to make the Trapezoid box. I printed the template directly onto Kraft cardstock before cutting it out. I then stamped the Spider's web and spider from the Elzybells seasonal sentiments. I covered one side of th box with black textured cardstock and then I stamped the Halloween Trick or treat trio onto white card and coloured and cut out my favourite little Mummy!
I mounted the Mummy topper onto a Nesties scalloped circle and stuck him to the black panel. I punched holes to form the ribbon closure as per the template and then assembled the box with strong glue.
I made a little Nesties tag and stamped the Trick or treat sentiment. I inked the edges of the box with a black chalk inkpad and then stuck orange punched stars randomly on the box. I filled the box with yummy treats and tied with a ribbon adding the tag to the back of the box.
I love the way this little box has turned out and I love how versatile the Halloween stamps I have bought have turned out to be. This is the 4th Project I have made with them and I still have loads of ideas!
I tried a new way of taking my photos for this post. No flash and set up under my Daylight lamp onto white card. I am hoping this will show off my Projects better.
I hope you had a good Monday!

Thank you card - Moving along with the times Challenge 15

I made this card on Sunday and posted it yesterday so I am hoping it will have arrived at it's destination by the time this post appears on Blogger.

I made this cute card using my new Lili of the Valley stamp I bought at Ally Pally a few weeks ago. It was
the first time I had inked the stamp up after mounting it on my Ezi - mount and it stamped beautifully. The image was so crisp and clear. I made a card with Heidi's sketch for the Moving Along with the times blog challenge.
The challenge element this week is Paper piecing so I paper pieced the cushion on the swing and part of the girl's clothes. I coloured the rest of the image with Promarkers and the sentiment is Elzybells. I used My Minds Eye papers for all the matting and layering. I loved using so many different patterns on the card. The layers really show them off and I hope they coordinate well. I decide to use Bling instead of strips of card or ribbon for the finishing touch, a decision I nearly regretted as it was virtually impossible to get them in a neat straight row but hopefully they don't look too scruffy! I have loads more bits and pieces to catch up on and some new Kraftin Kimmie stamps to play with but not much energy at the moment! Hopefully I will feel better as the week goes on.

Moving along with the times sketch Challenge

I really enjoy taking part in the Moving Along with the times Challenges and this time there was an extra Challenge element that was too tempting to resist: no stamping!!! I don't make many cards without stamps so I thought I would have a go.

There was a great sketch to follow by Clare C, I love the squares and thought I would use some of my Labels Nestabilities for them. The brown card is Kraft card that was a birthday present from Petra, the backing paper is Crate paper which I bought from Ally Pally, the button was from a pack at Quixotic Paperie and the letter stickers are Making memories.
I really enjoyed this Challenge, the no stamping rule made me 'think outside the box' and was a perfect excuse to use up some of my Sizzix shapes, I have loads precut and they are always abandoned in favour of my stamps!
Hope you are having a good week so far...

Moving along with the times sketch Challenge

Here is my card for the Moving Along with the times sketch Challenge. The image is Messy Rabbit and I coloured it with promarkers.

There was lovely sketch by Heidi to follow this week and the theme was Christmas. I dug out my Nestabilities to cut the squares and embossed some white card with a Cuttlebug Snowflake folder. I got this in the post today so I was dying to use it! I coloured one of my Prima flowers with my silver pen and layered it up with a blue flower and a piece of Snowflake Confetti finished off with a sticky gem. The ribbon has been lurking in my stash for ages. It is a really nice shade of blue. The prize for this week is a Guest Design team spot so why not pop on over and play along for a chance to work with the talented Design Team!

Snoozing ted card

I made this card today to enter into the Moving Along with the Times Sketch Challenge, the Challenge element was to use stiching so I did some wonky stitching on my Machine (it is wonky on purpose, I am usually a straight lines person but thought I would try wonky for a change...). I used Funky Hand papers and an Elzybells snoozing Ted stamp.

The sketch to follow this week was by Clare and I thought I would try and do a boy's card for a change. I was going to enter this into the Funky Hand Challenge but I reread the Challenge and the brief is to make something for a boy and think this is a bit too grown up so I am going to have another go.
Need to search through my CD again for something more suitable.
At least it's an excuse to make another card. It took me ages to put this card together. Nothing I tried seemed to work and I am not 100% happy with it but at least I can pop it into my card box, it might come in handy someday.
Hopefully the next card will come a bit easier! I

Pamper yourself!

I managed to just get in a card for the Moving Along with the Times Challenge this week, the deadline is tomorrow, I think, so am cutting it a bit fine. The Challenge this week is to follow a sketch and the theme is to make a teen card.

I followed the sketch quite faithfully this time and used Petra's stamp again. I love it so much, I may have to treat myself to one! I used American Crafts papers and the Butterfly paper is DCWV from the Blossoms and Butterflies stack. I coloured the image with my Promarkers and paper pieced the tub.
I coloured the blue flower with my Promarkers as I didn't have the right colour. I had never tried that before and was surprised at how well it worked.
Anyway, better have a tidy now. Charlie is awake and is balanced on my lap with my notebook, I think the 3 ATCs I was hoping to make tonight will have to wait!
Remember to check out the Moving Along with the times blog, you may still have time to take part this week, the DT girls have made some fab cards so take a look!

Cute as a button!

One last card for today, I was browsing my blogger dashboard and came across the lovely sketch by Hazel
for the Moving Along with the times challenge blog.
The theme is 'Cute as a button' and has to feature at least one button.

I used some more papers from my Clare Curd Signature range paper stack.
The backing paper has some buttons on it and I used a button I found in a Charity shop. I love that button! It is a lovely shape and colour and I have 4 more still left to use :-)
The sketch by Hazel was great but I had to use a circle instead of an oval for my image which is by Stamposaurus and is just the cutest! I have ordered the Oval Nestabilities from the States, can't wait for them to arrive!
I received my order of Really Useful boxes today so I hope that eventually I will become organised at my Craft desk. Am off to have a sleep now, am still at home, my tests at the hospital showed I have Diverticular disease and I still have some persistent pain although it is a lot better, the worst thing is how tired I feel and keep having to put my head down for a nap but I feel I am improving every day.

Moving along with the times Challenge card

I am at home this morning as I have to go to the Hospital this afternoon to have some tests to see why I have been feeling so ill lately. The tests are not going to be very nice so I thought I would make a card to take my mind of things...

I decided I would take part in the Moving Along with the times challenge this week. I missed last week as I wasn't feeling up to making many cards. The Challenge this week is a lovely sketch by Clare with the optional element of 'Anniversary'. My wedding anniversary is coming up but I couldn't find my Anniversary stamp anywhere and did not want to rummage through my stash in my bedroom too much as Hubby is sleeping in there having worked last night!
I decided to make a lovely card to give to my Hubby as he has been great while I have been ill. I flipped the sketch and used an Elzybells stamp which I coloured with Promarkers and Sakura pens. The stamp smudged a bit but hopefully you can't tell too much.

Am watching Create and Craft at the moment having just bought another stamp from Ebay, I did also tidy up my stamps today so am feeling very virtuous, just the rest of my Craft stuff left to tidy up now! Am thinking of investing in some 'Really Useful Boxes' in the vain hope they will make me more organised! I think the main reason it takes me so long to make a card is I have to rummage through so much stuff to find what I need, I can't bear to throw anything away though so I quickly become snowed under with leftovers and am really bad at using them up...
Am off now to tidy up before getting ready to go out.

DT Call - Moving along with the times Sketch 2

After returning from the fabulous Stamp Fair in Newbury, I couldn't wait to get started playing with all my new goodies. I decided to use my new stamps, papers and flowers to enter the Moving along with the times sketch challenge. The lovely sketch was provided by Clare and it was a perfect way to use all my new stash!

Even though we are in the middle of a heatwave I decided to use Autumnal colours, browns, greens and oranges look so lovely together and this gorgeous stamp was perfect for paper piecing. The rest of the image was coloured with Promarkers.
Moving along with the times are looking for a new DT member so I am submitting this card as my application.

I have a bit more time this afternoon to for some crafting so am off to have another look through my bag of new stash!

Hope you are enjoying good weather where you are!

Moving along with the times Challenge 1

I made this card today as I had to come home to look after my Son, he had too much sun yesterday at his Sports day and is feeling all dizzy and sick. In between topping him up with Lucozade and water I decided to follow the sketch on the new Moving along with the times challenge blog.
The colour theme is Strawberries and Cream with a hint of Chocolate so I thought this cute little bear would be perfect. The spotty paper is from a K+CO pack I bought at the weekend and all the rest of the items used were from my stash. I was wondering when I would ever use a brown flower but it looks great on here!

The Stamp and greeting are from Elzybells.
