Our Wedding invitations

Hello Everyone! My Fiance and I are getting married next year and I have been busy making lots of bits for our Wedding day. I finished our Invitations off this week and they are now all in the post winging their way to our lovely Friends and Family.

Our colour theme is Grey, Blush and Rose gold. I used Owl Grey card from Hobbycraft for the invitations layered onto rose gold card from Crafter's Companion and then layered onto a darker grey card I bought online. The envelopes were all purchased from Ebay and Amazon and were a perfect match.

The fonts I used were Mottona, Proxima Nova and another one which I will need to look up again! We wrapped all the invitations with a printed band and blush lace from Imagine DIY.
I have lots of other Stationery bits to make still, table plan, menu cards but I had so much fun making the invitations, I can't wait to get started on the rest!
Have a lovely Friday!

What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday

Hello Everyone! I hope you are well. A very long time ago when I was very active in Blogland and had a dedicated Craft desk I used to join in every week with 'What's on Your Workdesk Wednesday' run by the lovely Julia from Stamping Ground
I have decided to join in again as I now have a Craft room and a desk!

This is the result of making just 3 cards! You can see the latest Lawn Fawn one on the desk. I'm not a tidy as you go Crafter....I will tidy up when I get home later though as I need to clear the space to finish my Wedding invitations!
I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

Get Well Soon

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you are well and had a lovely weekend. I went to the Big Stamp and Scrapbooking show this weekend for the first time in years and had a fabulous time. My Fiance treated me to lots of lovely new bits for my Birthday and I can't wait to start playing with my new stash. I'm sharing  a Get Well soon card today I made using a digital image by Heather Ellis.

I used My Mind's Eye papers from my stash for the card and coloured the image with Promarkers.

I also used a Clearly Besotted stamps sentiment and finished with a flower from Hobbycraft
I am entering my card in to the I love Promarkers challenge.
Have a lovely Monday!

Penguin Party!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are well and had a good week. I'm very glad it's Friday as I will be going to Alexandra Palace tomorrow. I have not been for a long time and I'm looking forward to buying some new stash. I treated myself to some new stamps from Clearly Besotted Stamps this week and had a colouring session last night and coloured 8 penguins which I have made in to cards.

I used papers from Echo Park to create simple card using sentiments from the set and some embellishments from Hobbycraft. I colloured the first image using dots and cool greys and black.

The second image was coloured with warm greys and little dots. I used a sentiment from another Clearly Besotted set on the 2nd card.

Here are my little penguins all coloured in. They are so adorable and I love all the little hats in the set. I hope you have a lovely Friday!

A Pink and Grey Happy Birthday!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are well and having a good week so far. I have a card to share with you today which I made with scraps from my stash in one of my favourite colour combos at the moment: Pink and Grey

I used an adorable Pure Innocence image from the very talented Heather Ellis which I coloured in with my Promarkers. I cut her our leaving a small border before adding her to the card.

I used my sewing machine to sew the strips of paper together and added a running stitch around the edge of the card. The sentiment I used is from Pink Petticoat at the Lovely Studio and embellished the card with stick on pearls and lots of paper flowers. I am entering my card in to the latest Passion for Promarkers challenge.
I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

A little play with Distress inks and some Clearly Besotted stamps

Hello Everyone!
I hope you had a lovely weekend. Mine was very busy but I did manage to fit in a little bit of time in my Craft room to have a play with my new Wishful Thinking Clearly Besotted stamps to make the card below.

I used Distress inks to create a background on a square or card I had masked off with washi tape.

I then stamped the images with Archival ink and stamped a sentiment on vellum which I wapped around the image before adding it to a layer of yellow card before adding it to my card base.
I then finished with stick on gems.
I hope you have a lovely Monday!

Stars Rock!

Hello Everyone! I am back today with a card made using Echo Park Summer Dreams papers which are simply stunning! I love the jewel like colours and I thought they were perfect to go with the Luna Bitterfrost Stars Rock stamp from Little Miss Muffet.

I kept my layout simple and layered up different papers onto a sold pink layer before adding them at an angle to the card. The flower is from Hobbycraft and the wooden stars are from Artcuts.

I coloured the image with Promarkers and cut it out leaving a small border before adding it to the card with foam pads.  I coloured the image using some of my favourite colours and gave her beautiful red hair. I am entering my card in to the I love Promarkers challenge and the latest Little Miss Muffet Challenge
I hope you have a lovely Friday!

Rainbow birthday shoes!

Hello Everyone! It was my future Step-son's birthday on Tuesday and I made him a very colourful card inspired by Converse trainers (which are my favourite trainers!)
I used the My Favourite Things Dienamics die to make the shoe and My Favourite things papers from an old pad from my stash.

I used textured white card for the white parts of the card and added silver eyelets and grey baker's twine to lace the shoe up. I then added a Hobbycraft wooden star as a finishing touch. The sentiment I used is from Altenew.

Here is a close up of the finished shoe. I just love playing with the die and making it up in lots of different colours. It always looks fab! I hope you have a lovely Thursday. I have been spending a lot of time in my Craft Room so have lots of cards to show you in the next few days. I have truly found my mojo again and am so happy to be back and sharing cards with you all.

Wedding DIY flower petal confetti and cones

My Fiance and I are getting married in March next year and I have been getting crafty making lots of bits for our big day. I wanted to have biodegradable rose petal confetti for our guests to throw and having seen the prices online, I decided I could probably make my own a lot cheaper. I bought a few bunches of reduced roses from the Supermarket which were past their best and got to work.
I dried some in the microwave, taking the roses apart and laying them on kitchen roll and covering them up and blasting them in 30 second increments until they were crisp. Mine took around 1 min 30.
I dried the rest in the Oven on a low heat at about 125 degrees on a baking tray lined with baking parchment for around 8 to 10 mins. My Dad also dried some in the airing cupboard which worked well but took a lot longer. I am storing the dried petals in a shoebox in the airing cupboard until the big day.

To display them, I have printed some 6x6 papers with our names and the date of our wedding and rolled them into a cone shape secured with double sided tape. I bought a confetti cone tray from Ebay to hold them upright in a wooden basket I bought from Homesense.

I used a mix of pink and white flowers with a few red petals added in from flowers from my Dad's garden. The confetti smells lovely and look so pretty I can't wait for my guests to use it on the Wedding day!

Driving home for Christmas...

Hello Everyone!
I hope you had a lovely weekend. The sun was back again this weekend so we made the most of it with a trip to Portsmouth and we also spent a bit of time doing some pre-holiday shopping. I also had time to craft and spent some time in my lovely new Craft Room playing with the free gift from this month’s Simply Cards and Papercrafts Magazine.

I love the papers and stamps and the little truck die cut is simply adorable! I was inspired to make a bauble and used a papier-mâché blank which I painted with chalk paint and used the free papers to cover the front and back of it after I had stamped the sentiment.

I then cut the truck from teal card and paper pieced the wheels before adding it to the bauble with foam pads. I added a bow and flowers as a finishing touch. I hope you have a lovely Monday!

A Forest Friend Fairy card for the Ribbon Girl Challenge

Hello Everyone!
I have been playing in my lovely Craft Room today after printing out some digi stamps last night. The cooler weather has made me feel a bit Autumnal so I was inspired to use some autumn shades to colour the gorgeous Some Odd Girl 'Forest Friend Fairy' digi stamp.

I used My Mind's Eye papers from my stash and some cardstock I picked up today on a quick trip to my local Craft Shop and added lots of embellishments and a few bits from The Ribbon Girl, including my favourite polka dot buttons!

The gorgeous image was coloured with Promarkers in shades of duck egg, orange and yellow before I cut it out leaving a small border. I am entering my card in to the September Ribbon Girl Challenge as the theme is Anything Goes.
Have a lovely Saturday!
