A Birthday card for a Super 6 Year old!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are well and are having a good Weekend. I am feeling a little under the weather today so I thought I would take the opportunity to update my blog. I have a run of Family and Friend's Birthdays at the beginning of February so I have few cards to share with you over the coming days.

The card I am showing today was made for my Best Friend's Son Patric. I used a selection of old papers from my stash to create the background and to die cut the skyline using a Dienamics die.

The image I have used is a digi stamp called 'Super Henry' and is available here from Whiff of Joy, I coloured Henry in with my Promarkers to match the papers I used and cut him out before adding him to the card with foam pads.

I used a Paper Smooches sentiment which I cut out using a Dienamics Fishtail die and added this to the card with foam pads and added a large number 6 which was stamped using a Dienamics number stamp. As a finishing touch I dotted around some of my favourite wooden embellishments from Artcuts. I hope you have a lovely Sunday afternoon and are enjoying some sunshine, it is a beautiful day here.

Ribbon Girl DT - Orange and Peach for the September Colour Challenge

Hello again! As promised I am back with another card for the Ribbon Girl September Colour Challenge. Our colours this month are Orange and Peach and we have a beautiful inspiration photo for you.

I dug out one of my lovely Whiff of Joy Gnomes to make a card and used papers from an old Carta Bella pad as the colours were just perfect. I kept the layout simple and added a My Favourite things sentiment. The image was coloured with a mix of Graph'it pens and Promarkers and Copics.

I added lots of yummy Ribbon Girl goodies, including Pinky Peach Taffeta ribbon, a Pale Peach Daisy to which I added some orange stickles, Candy check orange ribbon, a spotty button, various other flowers and some Peaches and Cream stick on pearls. I hope you will be able to join in with our Challenge. Please check out the Ribbon girl blog for all the details you need to take part and some fabulous inspiration from the Design Team. We have two fabulous prizes for our lucky winner from Lili Of The Valley and Ribbon Girl.

Enjoy the rest of your Weekend!

Playing with Paper and Glue

Hello Everyone! It's the Weekend! I have a fun day of shopping ahead with my Mum and then not much else planned apart from a lot of crafting. I am popping on quickly today to share a couple of cards I made recently using papers from the Echo Park Paper and Glue pad. This has been one of my favourite pads of the year. The papers are perfect for boy's cards and have come in handy for some cards I made to celebrate important milestones for some of the boys in my life.

I made the first card for my Son to congratulate him on his exam results in August. He has now completed his first full week at Sixth Form College and I am so proud of him I could burst! The card has a simple layout and I used Whiff of Joy stamps and a Paper Smooches sentiment.

I made this card for my Best Friend's Son who started Primary School last week. I cannot believe how grown up he is now, it only seems like yesterday I was holding him in my arms when he was a tiny baby, he has grown into such a lovely little boy and seeing him all smart in his School Uniform really made me well up! The image I have used is Lil' Dumplings Brains from Pollycraft and is available here and the sentiment is another Paper Smooches one. I hope you have a lovely Saturday!

Pollycraft DT for the Pollycraft Challenge - Anything goes

Hello Everyone! Today is a a very exciting day as it is the first day for our brand new Pollycraft Challenge! We have a very easy theme for you this time, it is 'Anything goes!' I have made a card using the fabulous 'Mr Fix it' who is available here from Pollycraft.

I coloured him in with my Promarkers and cut him out before adding him to my card. The papers I have used are from the My Mind's Eye pad 'Boy Crazy' pad and I added a sentiment from Penny Black which matched my theme perfectly. I gave this card to my Dad for Father's day as he is a dab hand with any tools! I also added some little tool charms from Whiff of Joy which I tied on with some twine and topped with a little button from my stash.

Here is a close up of my image coloured in with Promarkers. I love his little tool belt! I think I need one of these for my crafting tools! I finished my card off by adding some little My Minds Eye enamel dots. I hope you will be able to join us for this Challenge. You can find some fabulous inspiration from the DT and all the details you need to enter on the Challenge blog. I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

My Mums's Craft Shop DT - Happy Birthday Ryan!

Hello Everyone! My eldest Son turned 16 today and I wanted to make him a funky birthday card he would actually like! I struggled to find a stamp which was suitable for a Teenage boy and then stumbled upon this fab digi image from Saturated Canary which looks like a lot like my Ryan. I used Echo Park papers from the Echo Park Scoot pad and a sentiment from the Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler set.

I used the Dienamics Mini Double dot border to cut a fancy border to hide the join between the two papers and then sewed around the edges. The banner was cut using the Dienamics fishtail dies and I stamped some Whiff of Joy numbers on it and added die cut letters. I tied some twine around the banner before adding it to the card and popped a little spotty button on top.

Here is a close up of my coloured in image. I coloured him in with Promarkers and then cut him out leaving a small border before adding him to the card with foam pads. I finished off with a couple of little stick on pearls. I hope you have a lovely Sunday! We are going to a Christening today and then will be taking Ryan out for dinner this evening to celebrate.

I will leave you with a picture of the Birthday boy 16 years ago!

Happy Birthday Patric!

Hello Everyone! It's a special day today as my Best Friend's gorgeous little boy is turning 4. I don't know where the time has gone! He is mad about Cars so I wanted to add some to his Birthday card and thought this little image from Lili of the Valley was perfect.

This little cutie is called 'Little Lorry Bear' and is available here from Lili of the Valley. I coloured him in with my Promarkers to match these lovely Echo Park Papers from the 'Boy's Life' pad which is an older pad I still love. The sentiment is from the Paper Smooches 'Salutations' set and I added some letter stickers from my stash.

The number stamp is from Whiff of Joy and I added a couple of little buttons from my stash and a funky ribbon from the Ribbon Girl before finishing with a couple of pearls. I hope you have a lovely evening!

Little Miss Muffet Challenges - Fireworks

Hello Everyone! It's time for a brand new Little Miss Muffet Challenge and our theme this fortnight is....

'Firework Inspiration'

There are 2 great photos on the Challenge blog to kick start your inspiration. I have used the very cute Lil Spook on my card and coloured him in to match the very old My Mind's Eye papers I used.

The stars reminded me of a sky full of fireworks and I added more die cut stars which I cut using a Dienamics die. The sentiment is by Melissa Frances and I added some green stick on pearls as a finishing touch. The little star charm is from Whiff of Joy.

Here is a close up of my Lil Spook, I think he is much too cute to scare anyone! I hope you will be able to join in with our Challenge. Whiff of Joy New release blog hop - Penguin Brothers

Good Morning! Welcome to my blog for the Whiff of Joy new release blog hop, I am very excited to be able to share another Whiff of Joy card featuring some more adorable penguins. I think they are so sweet and I have really enjoyed making the two cards I have shown this week. If you are following the hop, you should have come here from the lovely Sonja B. If you are lost there is a full list of the blog hop on the Whiff of Joy World of Ideas Blog. The stamp I have used on my card is called 'Penguin Brothers building a snowman' and is available here from Whiff of Joy. I used Kaisercraft papers on my card and a little rosette I found in my stash which I think is from American crafts.

The sentiment I have used is from Whiff of Joy and is from the 'Season's Greetings' set which is available here.

My image was coloured entirely with Flexmarkers, I have enough now to be able to cover most colour combinations and I really like the brush nib as it makes it so much easier to colour small areas. Your next stop is the lovely Karina . Make sure you leave comments along the way...this month, 6 lucky commentators will each win one of the digital stamps from our Fall Kit release. Whiff of Joy new release preview - Fishy Present

Hello Everyone! I hope you are having a good week. My Hubby has had a nasty throat and cough for over a week now and I think I have picked it up. My throat has been really sore since yesterday! We will be having a new release at Whiff of Joy this weekend and the Design Team are previewing the new stamps this week and we will be having a blog hop on Sunday which is release day.

I have made a card using the very sweet 'Fishy Present'. These cute little penguins were so much fun to colour in. I used my new Flexmarkers and they were great! So much easier to get into the smaller areas than my Promarkers and I found the blending quite easy too with the brush nibs.

The papers I have used are by Kaisercraft and are from the Mint Twist pad. I layered them onto red card and added stitching around the edges. The sentiment is also by Whiff of Joy and the snowflakes were cut with a Whiff of Joy die. Make sure you check out my teamies blogs for lots of inspiration using the new images! Have a lovely Thursday!

Sugar Nellie DT for the Sugar Bowl Challenge

Good Evening Everyone! I am a bit late posting to my blog today! I have been feeling under the weather this week and have been really sleepy in the evenings so have fallen behind with my DT work this week. I woke up feeling a bit better today and had a massive crafting session and got lots of cards made. I have been playing with some of the gorgeous new digi stamps that were released recently at Sugar Nellie and followed the latest sketch from the Sugar Bowl Challenge to make my card.

I used some old Bobunny papers which I hope fit in with the optional Vintage Turquoise theme. They have lots of lovely glitter on them and I layered them onto turquoise card and added lots of stitching around the edges. The image I have used is called 'Gingerbread cookies' and is available here from Funkykits.

I coloured the image with my Promarkers and then added glitter to the wand and the snow. I inked around the edges of my cut out image and then stamped with some of the smaller image stamps from the Personal Impressions Warm Winter Wishes set. The sentiment is also from the same set. I used Whiff of Joy snowflakes to embellish my card and some flowers from my stash and finished with some gems and stick on pearls. I am off to Alexandra Palace to the Big Stamp and Scrapbooking Show in the morning. I can't wait! I have been saving my pennies and am looking forward to seeing some of my crafty Friends and seeing some demos and buying some new goodies! I hope you have a lovely Weekend!
