Sugar Nellie DT .....In a while

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you are having a good week. I was very lucky this week to receive a lovely DT package of new stamps from Sugar Nellie and a couple of older ones too including this gorgeous stamp by Leanne Ellis which is available here from Funky Kits. I love her and she looks to me like she has stepped right out of an episode of The Tudors!

I used a mix of papers from my scraps basket for my card and tied them all together by matting them onto kraft and stitching around the edges with pink thread. I add a Tim Holtz ticket on a pin, a prima metal trinket, some beautiful new resin flowers from The Ribbon Girl and lots of paper flowers from my stash. I was a bit worried I had gone over the top with all the embellishments but I think it works! The image was coloured with my Promarkers to match the papers and I coloured the pale ink background with a Flemarker. I have been very busy this week trying to get ahead with my DT commitments as I will be at the Farnborough Make-it show all weekend, I can't wait!!
Have a lovely Wednesday!

Pollycraft Monday Challenge - Ribbons and Buttons

Good Morning Everyone! I'm a bit late today with my Pollycraft post as I'm still recovering from my trip to the Stitches Craft Show in Birmingham. I had a fabulous time seeing all the gorgeous new products and met up with some of the girls from Quick Cards for lunch, had a lovely chat with Clare Curd and watched Tim Holtz doing some demos, there was so much gorgeous stash to see, it's lucky I couldn't buy anything! I have a day off work today and lots to do and hopefully I will manage to fit in a bit of crafting too! Today is Pollycraft Challenge day and this week the lovely Lynsey is challenging us to use Ribbons and Buttons on our creations and I have used the newly released Celeste Amberglow on my card and coloured her to match these gorgeous October Afternoon papers.

The ribbon I have used is from The Ribbon Girl as is the spotty button and I have used a crochet flower which has been in my stash for ages! The sentiment is from an old stamp set. I hope you will be able to join us for this Challenge.

This week we have a fantastic prize from our own lovely Paula from Pollycraft who is offering 10 digis for the winner!

Make sure you check out the Challenge blog for lots of inspiration from the DT!

Pollycraft Monday Challenge - Reds, Pinks and Creams

Good morning everyone! It's Monday and I am glad to see the back of last week, far to eventful for my liking and I am glad to be getting back to the normal routine. Monday is Pollycraft Challenge day and this week, the lovely Arabella has chosen our theme which  is:

Reds, Pinks and Creams

I did find this colour combination a bit Challenging but I was pleased eventually with how my card turned out. I used the adorable Pixie on a Toadstool from the 4 digi set which is available here from Pollycraft.

I used some gorgeous Basic Grey papers from the Kissing Booth pad and teamed them with some pink cardstock and a gorgeous charm from the Ribbon Girl which I think may be out of stock.

I coloured my image with Promarkers and used a sentiment from Elybells. The flowers are from various different craft shops. Sugar Nellie DT - A Sassy Sunday with Tiffany...

Hello Everyone! I hope you are all well. I have been missing in action this week as I have been suffering from a nasty winter bug and had to stay in bed and today was my first day back at my craft desk. I am finally starting to feel a bit better and hope to get back to my normal routine from tomorrow! I couldn't resist inking up a Simply Sassy stamp which I had shamefully not yet used.
The beautiful Tiffany was a complete delight to colour and I coloured her to match these lovely My Mind's Eye papers. I only have one sheet left in the pad now, I think it is one of the first pads I have nearly completely used up!

The sentiment label was die cut from a My Favourite Things die and was stamped with a stamp from the same set. I wrapped the card with Whiff of Joy ribbon and twine and used Twine to tie on the tag. The image was coloured with Promarkers and I added glitter glue to the hearts. I finished with a resin flower and a couple of gems.
I hope you have a lovely evening.

Hello Everyone! Sorry I am quite late with my Pollycraft Monday Challenge post today. I am still feeling awful but I went the Doctor's today and I have some antibiotics now so hopefully I will start to feel better soon. I have a nasty cough now which is keeping everyone awake so I am not very popular!  The lovely Anita has chosen our theme this week which is:

Chill Out!

I have made a card using the lovely Ronnie who is relaxing in his chair and some new October Afternoon Papers I recently acquired.

I added some of my usual stitching in red this time and using some of my favourite Fiskars punches, the scalloped lace border punch and the star squeeze punch.

I coloured Ronnie with my Promarkers, the sentiment is from an old Elzybells set.

The fabulous ribbon and the star stick pin are from The Ribbon Girl. I have run out of the gorgeous black gingham now so I need to get some more! It has become a new favourite of mine and it looks fab with my old favourites...the spotty buttons!
I hope you will be able to join in with our Challenge this week our fabulous sponsor is

Inspired by a photo for the By Lori Designs Challenge

Hello Everyone! I am feeling  a little bit better but not well enough to do any crafting apart from a little knitting. I hope I can get back to making cards soon as I am really bored! have found a card in my album
that I haven't shared yet which I made last week for the By Lori Designs Challenge.
I was really chuffed as I won the last Challenge and have my new digis all printed out and ready to use.
The theme this time is a photo inspiration Challenge and as soon as I saw it, I thought of making a new baby card.

I have used the adorable 'Sweet Pea Baby Addy' which is available here from By Lori Designs. I used some Pink Petticoat Gingham paper layered onto green Tim Holz card and added stitching around the edges. The frame is cut from a Spellbinders die.

I coloured Baby Addy using my Promarkers and then cut her out and layered her onto a background coloured with Promarkers and Flexmarkers. The green velvet ribbon is from The Ribbon Girl and I added flowers from my stash onto the corners of the image and finished with a couple of gems.

Here is the beautiful photo, I just love the soft colours and gingham has always been a favourite of mine!
I hope you have a lovely weekend, I am off to bed now :-(

Whiff of Joy DT for the Whiff of Joy Challenge

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you are having a good week. A brand new Challenge was launched yesterday on the Whiff of Joy challenge blog and I have to admit the theme did make me panic a bit when I read it as the team would like you to...

Colour an image in black and white

I've never tried this before so when I had stopped panicking and spent a bit of time googling some tutorials I decided to give it a go and spent some time colouring my beautiful Whiff of Joy Guardian Angel with various shades of grey Promarkers.

When  had finished it took me ages to choose my papers, I normally plan my cards around the papers and colour my images to match them so it was a bit strange doing the process in reverse.
In the end I chose mostly Echo Park papers and used the gorgeous Whiff of Joy Postcard stamp as a backdrop for my Angel to sit on.

The sentiment is a Melissa Frances transfer and the beautiful brad was purchased in Michaels in New York last October. I also added some Ribbon girl ribbon and flowers and some pearls as a finishing touch. Make sure you check out the Whiff of Joy Challenge blog for lots of inspiration from the fab DT and for details of this fortnight's prize.
Have a great Thursday!

Sugar Nellie DT - Happily Every After

Good Morning ! Love is definitely in the air with Valentine's day fast approaching and I thought I would stay with the Love theme this week for my post on the Sugar Nellie blog and make a Wedding card using one of my Favourite Sugar Nellie images. This adorable couple image is called 'Happily Ever After' and it is available here from Funky Kits. It really is such a perfect Wedding Day stamp!

I made a card using some gorgeous Fancy Pants Designs papers. I love the flowery paper and it looks lovely against the plain aqua cardstock. I added some stitching around the edges of my layers and die cut some circles to create a topper for my cute couple to sit on. I wrapped some velvet ric rac and some aqua satin ribbon around the layers before adding them to my card.

I stamped the image onto bright white card and then coloured it in with various shade of brown and aqua Promarkers adding some pearls to the Bride's headdress. I added lots of lovely flowers and a stamped sentiment which was mounted onto a scalloped die cut circle. The bow tied from vintage seam binding is hiding a tear where I changed my mind about the placing of the flowers! I also added some tiny pearls, buttons and a small pearl pin as a finishing touch.
I hope you have a lovely Wednesday.

Ali-Craft Workshops at Sandown - part 1

Good Morning Everyone! I mentioned last week that I spent the Saturday before last at the Craft Show in Sandown getting inky and messy and having lots of fun taking part in the Workshops run by Ali-Craft.
I finally got around to taking photos of what I made. I took part in 4 Workshops and here is what I made at two of them.
First up is a card made using Distress stains, inks, masking and Tim Holtz stamps. This was such fun to make. It was my first time playing with the Distress stains and I really enjoyed using them! I have been playing a bit more with this technique at home and I have another card to share with you which I made this weekend.

Next up is a tag book, the spine is concertina folded and it took me a while to get my head around this one but I love the finished book and it can be adapted to be made in any size.

The inside tags can be decorated. The sample Ali showed us was full of gorgeous Artwork!

Ali-Craft will be running workshops at the Farnborough Make it show and I would thoroughly recommend you book a place if you can. I had lots of fun trying new styles and I have to admit I am a little bit hooked on Steampunk now. I am going to be helping out doing a bit of demoing on the Ali-Craft stand at Farnborough while Ali takes the Workshops on Saturday and Sunday so please drop by and say hello if you are going to the Make it Show!
Have a lovely Tuesday!

Pollycraft Monday Challenge - These are a few of my favourite things

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you had a lovely weekend, I was very busy and can't believe it's Monday already. We have a great theme for you this week on the Pollycraft Challenge blog which is...
These are a few of my favourite things

I have made a card using my favourite Pollycraft Critter, spots and stripes which are also my favourite, my favourite spotty buttons and my favourite gingham ribbon. It's quite a small card but it is packed full of my favourite things! I even coloured Fluffy using my favourite Promarker colours!

The papers I used are mostly from Echo Park and the transfer sentiment is by Melissa Frances.
I stitched around the edges of the layers using some lovely thick red cotton and added them to a scalloped card base.

I hope you will be able to join us for this week's Challenge and show us some of your Favourite things, we have a fab sponsor this week! If you take part in the Challenge you will have the chance of winning a £10.00 voucher to spend in Crafty Emma's Store.

Steampunk inspired for the Fiskarettes sketch Challenge

I have been playing with the gorgeous Echo Park Times and Seasons for the past few days and some lovely Sprocket dies I borrowed from a crafty Friend and I thought they would work really well to make a card using the lovely sketch by Clare for this fortnight's Fiskarettes Sketch Challenge.

I had initially thought of using flowers where the circles but replaced them with cogs which gave me a great starting point for those hard to make Men's cards.
I used a 6x6 card blank and cut a square of card to measure 14.5 square to place my squares of papers which were cut to 4.5cm square on. This is a great project for using up scraps. I inked around the edges of all the papers before placing them on to the black card making sure I was happy with the arrangement before sticking them down!

I then stitched around the pieces with my machine before adding the finished black square to the card base. I stamped the sentiment in the top right hand corner, I have flipped the sketch to fit my design.
I added an arrangement of cogs in the centre of the card to mirror the sketch and added a double embossed clock face in the centre topped with some game spinners. I finished with a metal cog and a couple of gems. I hope you have a lovely Sunday!

Whiff of Joy DT - Thanks a Million!

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you had a good week and are having a good Weekend. I am planning to do some crafting today. I have made a lovely soup for my lunch to keep me warm as it is really cold here today! I received a gorgeous package of goodies from Katharina at Whiff of Joy this week and had so much fun playing with the postcard stamp and the gorgeous ribbons!

I used some lovely Tilda papers I found in my scraps box and had a play around distressing the papers with inks before layering them onto kraft card. I stamped the postcard onto kraft and distressed it further with more inks. I love this postcard stamp! It is fabulous! I added a Melissa Frances Transfer sentiment to it before adding it to the card.

I love this Henry angel image, he is so cute! I stamped him onto white card and colourd him with Promarkers before cutting him out and adding him on top of the post card with foam pads. I added glitter glue to his halo and wings to make them sparkle! The ribbon I used for the bow is available here from Whiff of Joy, I love this blue and there are lots of other gorgeous colours in stock now!
I added some flowers from my stash and some gems and a little sparkly heart sticker from Paperchase as a finishing touch. I am off to do some crafting now! I have commissions to finish and then I am gong to have a play! I hope you have a lovely weekend.

Sugar Nellie DT - Best Day Ever

Hello Everyone! Woohoo it's Wednesday! Only a few more days until the weekend! I had a bit of a crafty session last night making cards I can't show you as they are for a Magazine Commission. They are in a totally new style for me so I have really been enjoying the Challenge!

I have a a little sweetie from the latest release from Sugar Nellie today. This stamp is called 'Best Day Ever' and is available to buy here from Funkykits. I coloured her in to match these lovely papers from American Crafts and this scrap of gingham I found in my scraps basket and sewed though all the layers with bright pink thread. I added some lovely lace from The Ribbon Girl and some flowers from my vast collection. The image was coloured with Promarkers,  I used a colour combo that I don't normally use and I think I will use it again as I love the Springtime feel. The sentiment is by Hero Arts.
I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

Pollycraft Monday Challenge - Warm it up

Good Morning Everyone! I hope you had a lovely weekend, I had a fab time on Saturday at the Sandown craft show. I spent the whole day there and took part in four workshops run by Ali-craft. I learnt lots of new techniques and met lots of lovely ladies at the same time.
I spent most of the day yesterday cleaning and tidying up as I hadn't cleaned properly for quite a while! Too much crafting to do! Anyway...enough about my weekend...Monday is Pollycraft Challenge day and the theme this week chosen by the lovely Mary J is .....

Warm it up

(keep warm, warm or hot colours, anything that makes you feel warm)

I was inspired to make my card by the sentiment I chose which is an old favourite from Elzybells.
I wanted to use Marley holding the heart but wanted to cover up the 'be mine' sentiment on the heart he is holding so I printed him once onto the card for colouring and another time on paper so I could cut the heart out and use as a template to trace onto red spotty paper, I then edged the heart with ink and stuck it over the coloured image before adding the button.

Marley was coloured with Promarkers and I added him to my layout created with My Mind's Eye papers with foam pads. I simply added scraps of paper to a square of kraft card and added some stitching to create a Clean and Simple design to show off Marley.

The little heart buttons I added to the heart and the sentiment are from Crafty Emma's Store.
I added a couple of gems and a dot of glossy accents to Marley's nose as a finishing touch.
I hope you will be able to join us for this week's Challenge. We are sponsored this week by The Crimson Cloud.

Our winner will receive their choice of 3 packs die cuts.

You can see all the DT cards and all the details of this week's Challenge here.
Have a great Monday!

My tutorial on the Whiff of Joy blog

Good Morning Everyone! It's finally Saturday! I have been looking foward to today as I am going on a mini adventure on my own today to the Stitch and Creative Crafts show at  Sandown Race course.
I am looking forward to spending some of my pennies on some new stash!
I have a tutorial to share with you all today on the Whiff of Joy inspirations blog.

I will be showing you how to make a Concertina Matchbook with little bags to fill with crafty goodies.

I have used the adorable Henry with Large Rose who was part of this month's release at Whiff of Joy.

He is coloured with Promarkers to match these fab Echo Park papers. You can see my tutorial here.
Have a lovely Saturday!

A card for two Challenges

Good Afternoon Everyone! I hope you are having a good day and are getting ready for the weekend. I have a card today for two Challenges using the adorable Tiddly Inks Wryn. I used Wryn on a card a few days ago and couldn't resist colouring her up again in a completely different style. I followed the colour scheme of yellow, orange, green and blue from the Tiddlyinks Challenge and used various papers from my scraps basket mixed in with some kraft card.

The papers are from American Crafts and the apple paper is (I think) by October Afternoon. The Ribbon is from American Crafts and the flowers are from various places. The sentiment is from Hero Arts and I used a Martha Stewart punch fro the border. I followed the lovely Sketch from Sketch Saturday for the layout.

Here is a close of of Wryn, coloured with Promarkers and I added some glitter glue to the wings on the heart to make them sparkle.
I hope you have a lovely Friday afternoon and a great Weekend!
