A mini house for a huge celebration!

This is another catch up post, blogging something I made early last week. This is a gift I made for my Friends Petra and Peter who had a massive party at the weekend to celebrate their House's 105th Birthday.
I wasn't able to go as I got flu :-( but loads of people did. About 200!

I decided to make a gift box in the shape of a house and fill it with some mini scrapbook albums. I made the base shape of the house in 2 pieces tracing around a square Nestie to make the roof shape then scored, folded it and then stuck it all together. I cut some grass freehand and stuck it around the base of the house.
A door was cut from Burgundy card and layered up with foam pads and a brad for a handle. I then added Basic Grey stickers to the door. The flowers were stuck onto some climbing leaves cut with a Fiskars border punch and embellished with pearls.

I cut a Fiskars border to add to the roof on the side of the house, added a window cut from Nesties and another Fiskars border for a window box was filled with more leaves and flowers. Flowers were dotted around the grass.

I cut a piece of card for the roof which was scored and folded and edged with the border punch. I stuck it down at the back to make a hinged roof and added velcro to the front top to close the box. I added Petra and Peter's initials to the back of the box in a Nesties panel.

I then made 3 mini albums with my Bind it all to add to the box to record the 105th Birthday of the house.
All papers used were K+Co and the letters are Basic Grey and K+Co.
I love how this Project turned out and wish I could have given it to Petra and Peter on Saturday but they will receive it today.
Hope you all had a lovely weekend.
