Birthday Butterflies

Hello Everyone!I hope you are well and are having a good week so far. I have been playing with some of my older stash recently. I keep finding things I love and have not used since I moved house. I will be having a big tidy up and sort out soon as my Craft supplies are in a bit of a mess and I'm having trouble finding things.
I am sharing a card today I made with a very old Penny Black stamp which I think was released in 2013. I can't find her for sale anywhere anymore but I remember snapping her up at the time as I thought the image was so pretty. She remained un-inked until I moved house! This card is for my Boyfriend's lovely Sister and I wanted it to look very elegant and pretty so I coloured the image in pastel colours adding a flower stamp to the bottom of my image panel with glitter accents.

The image was coloured with Promarkers and I used My Mind's Eye papers for the card and some lace and punches from my stash. The sentiment is from a Bobunny set, I do love a mixed font sentiment! I hope you have a lovely day.

MMCSDT: All I want for Christmas is Ewe...

Hello Everyone! I am back today with another Christmas card! I am really loving all the new Christmassy stock which has recently arrived at My Mum's Craft shop and I fell in love with the Baaah Humbug Lawn Fawn stamps. It seems you all did too as these are unfortunately sold out at the moment but there are plenty other Lawn Fawn stamps in stock here.

To make my card, I created some snowy hills using textured card and a My Favourite Things die. I stamped the sentiment on to the bottom snowy hill and some holly using tiny stamps from the set. I pieced the hills on to some snowy paper from the Doodlebug SugarPlums pad and used more papers from the pad to cover my card base.
Here is a close up of the little sheep which I coloured in with Promarkers. They are adorable and I love the tiny little heart. I kept my card very simple and added a small die cut snowflake with a pearl heart as a finishing touch. I hope you have a lovely Friday!

MMCS DT: Fall Friends Thank you card

Hello Everyone! I hope you are well and are looking forward to the Weekend. I will be decorating this weekend. I am really enjoying doing up my new home and putting my stamp on it. The sun is shining here today so hopefully we will also be able to enjoy a bit of sun while the paint is drying. I am here with my Design Team card for My Mum's Craft Shop today.

I have used the adorable 'Fall Friends' collection from Doodlebug for my little Thank you card.I created a little scene using papers and some punches  and added a little sewing before sticking the papers to my card. I used a cloud die to add the sentiment and accented it with a little flower.

This little cutie is a cardstock sticker. I added him to the card with foam pads and added an acorn sticker on the grass with a wooden heart button. I love the autumnal colour tones of this pad, they really inspired me. I have been crafting a little more lately and feel I am getting my mojo back so I am hoping I will be updating my blog at little more often! Have a lovely Weekend.

My Mum's Craft Shop DT - Mini Gingerbread Christmas cards

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all ok and have had a good couple of weeks. I am back today with my Design Team post for my Mum's Crafts Shop. I have been making Christmas cards for Quick Cards Made Easy for months now, so I always find when it comes to making my own that I want to do something Clean and Simple and quick to put together. Last night I had a play with my dies and some lovely new Lawn Fawn goodies from My Mum's Craft shop.

I love Gingerbread men so I just had to get these! I used the 'Oh Snap!' stamps and dies on these cards. I first cut a shaped card base using a scalloped circle die then cut patterned papers from the My Favourite things Fresh Squeezed chevrons pad.

I added a circle cut from Kraft on top of this and then die cut a circle from smooth white card using the stitched circles dies. I stamped my sentiments then stamped the images onto offcuts of white card.

After I had coloured the images, I die cut them using the coordinating dies and added them to the card with foam pads. I added contrasting stick on gems from my stash to finish.

I think I will be making a lot of these this year as they are very quick to put together and I think the little gingerbread man is adorable! I hope you have a lovely Friday and a lovely Weekend!

My Mum's Craft Shop DT - Thanks a Latte

Hello! I cannot quite believe it hs been over 3 months since I last blogged a card. I am back today and hopefully will be updating my blog on a more regular basis. I have continued to design for Quick Cards Made Easy during my absence and am returning to my DT position at My Mum's Craft Shop today which Kitty very kindly left open for me. I have had a very busy and eventful time over the past 12 months and have been on a rollercoaster of emotions which have intefered with my desire and ability to craft but life is a bit more settled now and I am very happy. I moved house in July and crafted for the first time yesterday in my new craft area. I was very inpsired by the wonderful 'Your Next Stamp - Thanks a Latte' stamp set which you can find here at My Mum's Craft Shop.

I paired the stamps with papers from the My Favourite Things Fresh Squeezed Chevron pad. I paper pieced the coffee cup and added some shading to the lid with distress inks before adding to a die cut circle and adding it to my simple layout.

I added some embellishments I found in my stash, including some of my favourite wooden stars from Artcuts. The tiny paper flower is from Hobbycraft and the fabric flower is from the Ribbon Girl as are the stick on pearls.

I am feeling a little bit rusty and it took me a while to organise myself and find all the things I needed in my stash but this will get easier once I have re-organised my supplies. As you know, I was very lucky to have a Craft Room in my old house. I no longer have  a dedicated craft room but am very lucky to have a massive cupboard under the stairs which my lovely and very clever Boyfriend has fitted with lots of shelves so everything has a place.

This is my new craft desk in the corner of my Dining Room. My new Home is a Victorian terrace with beautiful high ceilings so the alcove has been filled with shelves which hold all my papers, ribbons and flowers. It's vey cosy and once I have made a couple of adjustments it will be the perfect place to craft.

This is the view from my Craft desk, The shed you can see at the bottom of my garden was rescued from my Grandma's garden after she passed away earlier this year. It's a lovely reminder of days spent playing as a child in her garden.

I hope you have a good Friday and a lovely weekend and I promise I will be back soon.

Pretty in Pink!

Hello Everyone! Apologies for my long absence again, life is still very busy and I am struggling to find time to craft and blog. I am here today with some girly inspiration using a gorgeous Pollycraft stamp which is available here from My Mum's Craft shop. I coloured the cute little Pixie in with my Promarkers and added her to some circles cut from pink cardstock and papers from the Authentique 'Pretty' pad.

I kept the layout simple, adding some ribbon from my stash and a sentiment from an old My Favourite Things stamp set which is unfortunately no longer in stock.

Here is a close up of my finished image. I added some glitter glue to the Pixie's wings and finished my card with lots of pretty flowers and some stick on pearls. I hope you have a lovely Friday!

A Birthday card for a Super 6 Year old!

Hello Everyone! I hope you are well and are having a good Weekend. I am feeling a little under the weather today so I thought I would take the opportunity to update my blog. I have a run of Family and Friend's Birthdays at the beginning of February so I have few cards to share with you over the coming days.

The card I am showing today was made for my Best Friend's Son Patric. I used a selection of old papers from my stash to create the background and to die cut the skyline using a Dienamics die.

The image I have used is a digi stamp called 'Super Henry' and is available here from Whiff of Joy, I coloured Henry in with my Promarkers to match the papers I used and cut him out before adding him to the card with foam pads.

I used a Paper Smooches sentiment which I cut out using a Dienamics Fishtail die and added this to the card with foam pads and added a large number 6 which was stamped using a Dienamics number stamp. As a finishing touch I dotted around some of my favourite wooden embellishments from Artcuts. I hope you have a lovely Sunday afternoon and are enjoying some sunshine, it is a beautiful day here.

MMCSDT - You're an All Star!!

Hello Everyone! I hope you had a lovely Christmas and I wish you all a belated Happy New Year, I hope 2015 will be a good year for you. I had (another) break from crafting over Christmas, December was very busy and I did manage to make some Christmas cards for my family and some CAS ones to send to Friends but didn't manage to blog them. The lovely Kitty from My Mum's Craft Shop very kindly offered me to take my place back on the DT and today is my first post since I rejoined on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog.  I am also designing again for Quick Cards Magazine. It's really good to be back! The card I am sharing with you today was made with one of my favourite new dies, the Dienamics All Star High Tops. I used this one for my Son's Christmas card as he is a big Converse fan.

I used papers from the Carta  Bella Baby Mine pad which is available on special offer here. I used the latest Sketch Saturday sketch for my layout and added a little paper flower and some stick on pearls from The Ribbon Girl.

The sentiment and the star on the shoe were stamped using stamps from the coordinating stamp set which is available here from My Mum's Craft Shop. I love using this die as it can be made to look so different each time. I used some linen thread for laces and kraft card for the stripe on the sole. Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you have a lovely Friday!

A Vintage Chalkboard Christmas

Hello Everyone! I have another Christmas Card to share with you today. This one has a bit of a vintagey feel to it. I used some old My Mind's Eye papers which are really beautiful.I love the rich reds and golds and muted greens.

The focal point on my card is a Chalkboard effect panel made using an Indoigo Blu stamp I used last year on a Magazine Commission. It is still available here. I heat embossed it on to Black card with matt white embossing powder. It is not perfect but that is the look I was going for. I also distressed the edges of the panel before adding it to the card. I added some poinsettia die cuts from Tattered lace to the top left of the image with gold stick on pearls in the middle of each flower.

I wrapped my card layers in hessian ribbon  from The Ribbon Girl and pleated ribbon before adding them to the card base. I added a bow tied with luxurious satin ribbon  which I topped with a sparkly button. I tucked a little Martha Stewart punched holly leaf under the button and finished with more stick on pearls. I am off to do some Christmas Shopping in Reading with my Mum this morning. Wish me luck! Have a great Saturday.

A CAS Ribbon Christmas Tree

Hello everyone! I hope you are having a good week so far. I have a Clean and Simple Christmas card to share with you today which I made using a new Dienamics die I purchased from My Mum's Craft shop. I am hoping to make a few more of these before Christmas as they are great for using up Ribbon scraps.

I used the die to cut the apertures in a square of white card and added double sided tape running down each side of the tree. I then added various green ribbons from the Ribbon Girl.I used scraps of white spot grosgrain,, moss green satin  and some saddle-stitch ribbon in different shades of green and different widths.

I added a tiny scrap of bright red satin for the pot and added a tiny bow tied from twine and a sparkly star button from my stash to top the tree. I then added a square of kraft card behind the tree cut out before adding it to the card.

I am entering my card in to the latest 'Less is More' Challenge and the Moxie Fab World Treemendous Challenge. I hope you have a lovely Thursday!

A Christmas card and a Magazine giveaway

Hello! I am back, finally, with a card! I apologise for my absence, life has been very complicated lately and I have had very little time and enthusiasm for crafting for quite some time now. I now feel I am starting to get my mojo back and hope to be able to share my cards with you again if anyone is still reading! The card I am sharing with you today was made a couple of months ago but never blogged as a Ribbon Girl DT card.

The theme was pastels and I used papers from Lili of the Valley and a gingham from my stash to cover my card. I added some gingham bias binding and a gorgeous blue ribbon to wrap around my layers.

The gorgeous wooden snowflake is available here from The Ribbon Girl. I decorated it with a pastel button and stick on pearls and tied blue twine in the little hole in the top of the snowflake.

I finished with a sentiment by Polkadoodles, more pastel buttons and little paper rose. As a little celebration of my return to blogging and a Thank you for still following me, I have a copy of the latest issue of Quick Cards minus the free gift which features some of my Lili of the Valley cards.

Please leave a comment on this post if you would like to be entered into a draw to win the Magazine and I will pick a winner on Sunday. Thanks for stopping by! Take care and I will be back soon with another Christmas card.

MMCSDT - Just because

Hello Everyone! I hope you are well and having a lovely Weekend so far. I went to the horse racing at Ascot yesterday. We were lucky with the weather and not very lucky with the horses but it was a great day out. I am back with my regular Sunday post for the My Mum's Craft shop blog and I have been playing with some of the new Technique Tuesday stamps which arrived this week. I used the 'You did it' set on this card with some distress inks to create the central panel.

I cut out a panel of white card using a Spellbinders die and then blended Spun Sugar, Victorian Velvet and Vintage photo  Distress inks. I stamped some of the flowers using Spun Sugar and Victorian Velvet and the sentiment using brown Archival ink. I added a couple of little pearls and a little wooden button from my stash and layered everything on to some paper from a Bazzill Basics pack.
I hope you have a lovely Sunday!
