New Ribbons and Toppers at My Mum's Craft Shop

Hello Everyone! It's my day for posting on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog today. I have been playing with some of the lovely new goodies which have just arrived at My Mum's Craft Shop and have two cards for you today. Kitty has recently received a huge selection of printed ribbons and toppers which are going to be perfect for your Christmas cards this year. Both cards were very quick to make!

I used Vintage Presents ribbon on my first card and some matching paper from My Mind's Eye. I also added a Paper Smooches sentiment which is from the Christmas Sampler set. I finished with a wooden snowflake from my stash and a stick on gem.
The new Owl toppers are great fun and are already coloured in. They are a perfect match to the Bazzill basics Nordic Pines papers I have used. The ribbon is Christmas Hoot Tawny and I used it as my sentiment. I added another wooden snowflake and some punched Holly leaves to finish. I hope you have a lovely Sunday!

MMCSDT - Halloween Week on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog

Hello Everyone! We are starting a Halloween themed week this week on the My Mum's Craft Shop blog. I have used my favourite Halloween papers from this year to make a quick card with no stamping or colouring which is unusual for me!

The papers I have used are from the My Mind's Eye Happy Haunting pad and I layered them on to orange card before adding them to the card base. I cut some toppers out from one of the pages in the pad and also layered them on to orange card and added some stitching before adding them to the card base. I added a spotty button and ribbon from The Ribbon Girl and a few die cut bats which I embellished with tiny black gems for their eyes. I hope you have a lovely Sunday, it's raining and horrible here today so I will be mostly crafting and practising my colouring. I will be back a little late with my Ribbon Girl DT card.

My Mum's Craft Shop DT - A little preview...

Hello Everyone! I have some exciting news to share with you today and a little preview of some new stamps My Mum's Craft Shop will be stocking very soon! I was thrilled when Kitty told us that we would be getting a delivery of Lawn Fawn stamps. I have a couple of Lawn Fawn stamps already so I have made a card using one of them today and some of the new papers that arrived this week.

The papers I have used are from the Bazzil Nordic Pines pad. They are gorgeous and have a lovely texture. I die cut a little aperture for my Owl to sit in after I had coloured him in and cut him out. I added a little strip of ribbon between the aperture and the sentiment and then added a crochet flower topped with an old brad from my stash. I finished with some tiny stamped hearts filled with glitter glue and a stick on pearl. I hope you have a lovely Sunday!

A cute littleHalloween Pumpkin

Hello Everyone! I have another card to share with you today which I made this Weekend to enter into the Graph'it Challenge. The theme is Halloween so this cute Lil Dumpling Jack from Pollycraft was just perfect and was so much fun to colour in. I coloured him in shades of Orange and Black and Grey to match the My Mind's Eye 'Happy Hauntings' papers I used.

I die cut the centre panel using Spellbinders dies and added a little sewing around the edges. The sentiment I used is by Melissa Frances and I added a little spotty button from The Ribbon Girl and a wooden star from my stash alongside a brad I have had for years (I am trying to use some up as I have pots full of them!)

Here is a close up of cute little Jack. He actually reminds me a bit of my Jack who is really not so little anymore! I hope you have a lovely Wednesday!

A little Sweetie pie for the All Dressed up Challenge

Hello Everyone! I discovered a new Challenge at the Weekend and a new to me digital stamps shop! I love the stamps by Wendy Burns that were released by 'My Favourite Things' so I was delighted to find some of her images in digital format in the 'All Dressed Up' Etsy shop. I treated myself to an image called 'Sweetie Pie' which is available here and coloured her in with my Graph'it Markers and Promarkers to match the gorgeous (but very old) Basic Grey papers I used on my card.

I matted all my layers onto Kraft card and added stitching around the edges of the layers. I added some beautiful lace from my stash and lots of beautiful flowers. The crochet flower is from Docrafts and I added a vintage button on top. I dotted on a few stick on pearls and a few more buttons to finish.

Here is a close up of the gorgeous image, She was so lovely to colour in. I added a background around her by drawing little dots with lots of different pens and my blender. I hope you have a lovely Tuesday!

A Halloween treat box for the Ali-Craft Challenge

Hello, I am back again with my DT post for the latest Ali-Craft Challenge which started yesterday on the Ali-Craft blog. The theme this month is Halloween so I made a little treat box to fill with some chocolate coins.

I used a Sizzix die to cut the pillow box shape and used Distress inks and sprays to decorate a strip of paper using stamps from the Steampunk Spells 2 set to wrap aroud the box. I tied some purple twine around the box and used it to attach a little tag made by mouting a stamped sentiment from the set onto a die cut cog which I set with an Eyelet. I finished by adding a little purple flower topped with a stick on gem. I hope you will be able to join us for this Challenge for the chance to win a £10 website voucher.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Vintage Brooches from The Ribbon Girl

Hello Everyone! I hope you are well and enjoying your week so far! I have something a little bit different for you today. The Ribbon Girl have recently added some beautiful Vintage Style brooches to their lovely shop and I have used one to decorate a little box. The brooch I have used is 'Empress' and it is available here.

I used My Mind's Eye papers to decorate a little kraft box from Paperchase and used Hessian ribbon to wrap around the lid and through the brooch clasp securing it inside the lip of the lid so the brooch can be removed and worn.

I decorated each side of the box, adding a flower from the Darjeeling Pink Blossom pack on this side and a Lili of the Valley tag.

I added punched Butterflies topped with stick on pearls to two of the other sides and finished with lots more stick on pearls.

I really love this finished box and can't wait to fill it with something pretty to give to someone special!
Have a lovely Wednesday.

Playing with Paper and Glue

Hello Everyone! It's the Weekend! I have a fun day of shopping ahead with my Mum and then not much else planned apart from a lot of crafting. I am popping on quickly today to share a couple of cards I made recently using papers from the Echo Park Paper and Glue pad. This has been one of my favourite pads of the year. The papers are perfect for boy's cards and have come in handy for some cards I made to celebrate important milestones for some of the boys in my life.

I made the first card for my Son to congratulate him on his exam results in August. He has now completed his first full week at Sixth Form College and I am so proud of him I could burst! The card has a simple layout and I used Whiff of Joy stamps and a Paper Smooches sentiment.

I made this card for my Best Friend's Son who started Primary School last week. I cannot believe how grown up he is now, it only seems like yesterday I was holding him in my arms when he was a tiny baby, he has grown into such a lovely little boy and seeing him all smart in his School Uniform really made me well up! The image I have used is Lil' Dumplings Brains from Pollycraft and is available here and the sentiment is another Paper Smooches one. I hope you have a lovely Saturday!
